I'm not sure to be honest either. I seem to have an affinity for that type of apparel. Some of my favorite characters like Viewtiful Joe, Protoman, and Captain Falcon adorn them so..

I suppose it's more that I like them because they exude "warmth".

There's also something about if it's wrapped in a way that's bundled up as opposed to loose it can be quite adorable.

Ah, awesome! And I totally agree. You see it a ton and it just has something different to it that I can't really explain, but I like it.

Lan sucks. Muginami > Lan.

Muginami is so far better than Lan that she
first almost killed her and afterwards she saved her life.
That should be enough to show everyone how much better she is. She
has the power of life and death
over lesser beings like Lan.
When you put it that way, Muginami > Lan indeed.

Sket Dance 43

Like I figured, fantastic episode. Great job by Ryōko Shiraishi.
No preview, but from the title it's going to be at least one of the non-comedy chapters. Hopefully they'll get to the next big story soon...
I mean, it originally came about merely because ryo saw some of huke's drawings and got inspired to make the song. How it blew up and eventually developed into the figurines, manga, OVA, game, TV series, etc. I have no idea.

The lesson to take away from all this is everyone in Japan is a filthy pervert.

Or just the people who watch anime.

Well, there goes any chance of BRS being decent.

So... you have made that thread on 4Chan's /a/, isn't?

Who else cares enough? What they did to Yomi is much worse, though.

Wide-faces and glasses? They're obviously trying to make money from the Madoka craze.

I get the feeling sometimes that 7th is a middle school sportsy spunky tomboy with a passion for animation.

You got me.

Black Rock Shooter (TV) - 01

The Good: The other world stuff looks really stylish. I wouldn't have known that it was CG if duckroll didn't talk about it. The movements are fluid enough, the backgrounds look nice and BRS' design is ace.
omg. they showed BRS' butt crack!
.

The OP is by ryo/supercell too.

The Bad: There's only 5 minutes of the other world (I counted). There's also the laughably bad frame story straight out of mean girls.

The Ugly: The real world looks like something straight out of Studio Deen's worst nightmare.

They also announced(?) Nakamura's next noitaminA show.

The studio is A-1, its about 4 dudes (somewhat like Nichibros) and it looks slice of life by the sea. The title is Tsuritama.

Someone who can read Japanese, tell me the announced cast. I was able to identify Sugita by voice alone, but can't guess the other three.

Fuck this language barrier; I knew I should have taken Japanese as an elective in college.

Ok so more info, the catch is

Fishing X Aliens X High School

Its about 4 dudes,

Yuki - can't communicate with people well, has never had friends.

Haru - claims to be an alien and wants to force Yuki to fish.

Natsuki - grew up in Enoshima (a place by the sea), pissed off by a lot of things around him.

Akira - Indian guy who always observes them from afar.

Its gonna be a story about youth and fishing.

Ousaka Ryota
Irino Miyu
Uchiyama Kouki
Sugita Tomokazu

Best thing from today's noitaminA!

Wasn't Atsuya Uki involved in another solo project? Would that still be on the works simultaneously?
Cencoroll 2 is apparently in production, but aside from that I dunno.

Also, this is the third boys slice-of-life anime that Miyu Irino has been in consecutively, and starring alongside Koki Uchiyama and Sugita, one each also in the previous two shows.

The art design looks nice, if not on the same level of creativity as Nakamura's earlier shows, and A-1 is a solid studio. I'll be hopeful for now.

Cool then! I'll keep waiting for it since they promised some kind of really expanded vision on the world of the first one, apparently there wasn't enough with the sponsorship they had at the time.

It was good and all but, with the quantity of work and people (key animators) necessary to achieve that only for various scenes of one episode... wouldn't that diminish the returns from working with that kind of animation in the first place? It would serve as an exercise to improve on it, after all, but... isn't it a bit pointless as they seemed to be trying something similar to how the previous OVA's action scenes were made but in another (more convoluted) way?

Do you want to be able to sample the first dubbed episode of Madoka in advance of the disc release? Well, here is your chance.
Aniplex of America has announced that they will be premiering the English dub version of the first episode of Puella Magi Madoka Magica on NicoNico Live. The first episode will be streamed with Japanese subtitles for free on NicoNico Live on February 11th at 1:30PM JST and will be available to viewers in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. The showing will feature a brief introduction by the English voice actors for Madoka (Christine Marie Cabaos), Homura (Cristina Vee) and Kyubei (Cassandra Lee).

Trailers for the Anime Bunko OVAs (Naoko-san, Minori Scramble and Gyo), animated by ufotable. Naoko-san and Minori Scramble look well made but Gyo looks kind of bad (look at the CG fishs!), which is a pity since it was the most interesting of the three projects.
