Yes! Excite! I really did enjoy that battle. Someone posted something relating this show being closer to The Hunt for Red October, and I can't gleefully agree more. Easily the best show this season. It can be really difficult to get GOOD hard sci-fi space opera, and Moretsu Pirates does it in spades.

I was happy in the middle, and depressed at the beginning and the end.

Henrietta is clearly the superior choice for Saito, and I knew what was going to happen once he didn't close the passage or door behind him (though he really has no reason to). I just want to end her suffering, and the same goes for Tabitha. It was really good to see Tabitha to be true about her feelings too. Eleonore is still kinda bitchy, but awesome.

Henrietta is the best girl on that show. Also, nyan nyan nyan.

I've always found PreCure a bit disappointing for some reason; maybe I'm a bit old-at-heart and non-demographic for young-skewing magical girl shows these days, and although Heartcatch certainly looked appealing I didn't know if it was a good series beyond the artstyle.

Not neccesarily, Nanoha had a MOTW formula with no overly long stock footage if any.

Kaito learns the truth about his parents, the puzzle that took their lives, and about the POG's origins. Nicely animated compared to some of the more recent episodes, and the premise continues to make me laugh when the show clearly doesn't want me to (like Rook's reaction to the audio the principle plays for Kaito to clear up some misunderstandings). But strangely as a result I'm still invested in the characters and look forward to seeing how this first season plays out, as well as where it goes in season two.

The tone of the show (overall) has just been far too light, and the characters themselves are pretty flat, so I don't feel that any of the 'serious business' stuff has any weight to it. I guess we'll have to see how it goes from now.

Meanwhile, the production quality is still high, and it's competently directed which is more than I can say for many shows this season.

I keep seeing this show compared to Star Trek TNG... at least Star Trek has space exploration. Now things should be moving in some sort of direction from now on at the very least.

It's the worst part of TNG. Braga would have a hard-on watching this show.
