CorvoSol: If you're expecting murder mysteries you've got the wrong show. Hyouka is more about using critical thinking to resolve everyday affairs, and much more about the characters involved in these affairs.
This may not be for you! But that doesn't mean reaching an understanding of why others like it is hopeless.
So what's your favorite anime so far this season guys? For me it has to be Noragami. Everything has been flawless and has been pointing to Yato being a new Gintoki. Plus the OST so far has me in love.
Lancer and Rider look pretty dumb. But I guess that's faithful. Caster and Berserker are probably going to have some really great action scenes. Archer looks suprisingly decent.
It is, but I'm not sure it's going to change Corvo's opinion if he hates it as opposed to being indifferent.
Corvo still has the option of bailing out and watching something he'll enjoy, but he'll persevere, because he's Corvo.

From what I can tell the cast for Escha & Logy is the same as the game's.

From the studio that brought you Humanity Has Declined comes yet another adaptation of another work from the same author, Romeo Tanaka. It covers a pretty similar ground to Chuu2 but with a far more morbid and realist take on the matter, dealing with issues ranging from petty bullying and social ostracism to blackmail, severe physical beatings,It really doesn't pull any punches and ultimately ends up sending a far stronger and worthwhile message than Chuu2 ever did. Even the "romance" angle is far better handled asbroken homes, domestic violence and attempted suicide.by the end of the movie.the two main characters kiss and show genuine affection for one another
I still need to watch the Blue Exorcist movie and Shinkai's foot porn thing before times up but I doubt either will be able to take this movies position on my 2013 AOTY vote. Watch it.
'tis that time of the month when drop (formerly suemura) starts dropping scans of various waifus from Megami and Nyantype. So far only three, but I'll post the Mizushima related ones:
I can probably give a heads up, when new ones show up, if there's interest and of course, I don't forget.
that's my take on this.
I really like the new KLK OP.
Read my mind; I was thinking of the exact same reference during that scene.Samurai Flamenco 15
Don't fuck with this Prime Minister!
Oh thank goodness, one of goddess Saori.
I am not worthy.
I never watched the GuP OVAs. Maybe when my life is no longer being ruled by Zelda ALBW I will.
Actually i've seen only ep 1 of najica but i'm pretty sure, maken-ki has it beat .i don't like najica so i won't go back to count.
I don't have stats since at the time of viewing (najica ) my counter wasn't implemented.
*Nods
Yep she is her own entity , and that's what make her an actually superior.
Not an atelier anime if i'm not watching them during hours in front of a cauldron making explosive barrels !
Barrel!
If I had bailed on E7 while hating it, I'd have seriously missed out. I DID bail out on Rah Xephon and people still get their panties in a twist when I voice complaints about it.
I like it, too, but I can't deny that it does look like they tried to do it while animating as little as possible.
Just remember that Hyouka's triumphs tend to be small ones and you're not going to get an episode 26 out of the rest of the show. There's always going to be a measure of reserve when it comes to how the characters grow and interact, and those moments where this reserve breaks down are intense for some, but not all.
Dunno I just don't think you'll like the show, 2nd half included.
If that means they worked more on the actual episodes, I'm cool with it. Really, the song and the little fight at the end is all I need.
A little Mashiro cuteness added to your daily routine makes life go by remarkably easily.
Also be sure to add in copious amounts of Kinmoza, NNB, and Hidamari sketch and youll be just fine!
The plot goes something like this:
- Meaningless characters steal Kon's screentime for extended periods
- The world drowns in despair
- Kon makes a brief appearance
- The world rejoices
- Repeat ad infinitum
It has its enjoyable points, but it's definitely not something I'd recommend to people.
Not me.
See it's funny because the female teacher doesn't have a boyfriend and is touchy about this fact. This is a character archetype that has never been seen in any other anime ever.
I can think of a few counterexamples to Tenet 1, most notably Kashimashi (manga version, as well as anime version if you count the about-face OVA ending), and also the oft-quoted Kokoro Connect. It's definitely true that best girls have a distinct tendency to lose, though.also OreImo, where the best girl won even though she wasn't the correct choice for the MC
Tenet 2 seems like a bit of a moot point, since there is never a true consensus. On those rare occasions when there is something resembling a consensus, I find it's more often on the mark than not, so this tenet seems fundamentally flawed.
Tenet 3...I can't think of any counterexamples to. And it's true that green isn't the nicest of hair colours. Then again, I can't really think of all that many green-haired girls in general, so I'm hesitant to accept this one as an actual law. I'm sure there's an amazing green-haired girl out there somewhere. Right? Right??
You have my sword/axe/whatever weaponlike implement I happen to have to hand.
What is the name of the anime with the girl who befriends those same faced gnomes after the end of the world or some shenanigans like that?
Engaged the Unidentified 04
Both families have a motif of "red" and "white" going on with their kids' names, I've noticed. In regards to what exactly Mashiro and Hakuya are, going by the OP/ED, I'm thinking either aliens or tengu, since they live in the mountains. Or maybe they're just really good at martial arts, that's the sort of thing that should be accounted for. Seeing Kobeni be able to read Hakuya's expressions when they never change is hilarious. Otherwise, Mashiro is challenging Non Non Biyori's Renge in sheer cuteness, and Benio is a force of nature. So, as enjoyable as always.

Read my mind; I was thinking of the exact same reference during that scene.
FROM BEYOND, SON
I figure I will stick with it until the school festival, which is what, episode 15? If that arc's conclusion doesn't change my opinion, then I'll reconsider whether or not I'm going to stick with it.
Humanity Has Declined. Very good series. Fun and original. Very unique show.
A tad bit bizarre at times but Y shows up and shes a goddess.
The show was plenty divisive at the same point where you're at. Lots of people loved the first half, others found it too boring just like you so I wouldn't sweat it too much. The Festival Arc might not change your opinion of the show overall but it is definitely the most engaging part of the show for many people.I thought you liked Hyouka?

I'm interested, but I'd rather play the game first and at the rate I'm getting through the Atelier titles (1 every 2 years) I won't finish Escha & Logy until 2019.
In waifu related news, Kurumi's glorious return has been confirmed for the new Date A Live PS3 game.
Still has two more volumes to go, but through 5 out of 7 it's sitting at about 235. From something's data page:

I highly doubt it can beat Najica or Agent Aika at their peak panty prominence. That was something to behold.
At this point honestly I'm not expecting murder mysteries. What I'm expecting is some part of this show to be engaging, instead of the desperately dull festival of boring it's been so far. You don't have to be fighting giant robots to make an engaging story driven by its characters. But in the 9 episode I have seen so far none of the characters have done anything to make me care about them, demonstrate growth, or even really to entertain.
In a way, Hyouka so far has felt like the worst parts of Zeta Gundam stripped of the mechanical battles. It's just uninteresting characters talking about things that don't matter in the next episode. Thus far in the show nothing has mattered, and I think that's a serious weakness of what I've seen so far. Hotaro, Chitanda, Mayaka and Satoshi are exactly who they were when introduced, and no reason has been given to care about any of them, save it be Chitanda, who unfortunately is far and away the weakest of the lot. Chitanda only comes out ahead so far because of a plot about her uncle. If the entire show were like that, maybe it'd be great. That plot had to do with a character, and it showed some level of development of Hotaro because he actually bothered to care about what was going on, since it had to do with Chitanda.
But "Oh no I saw a ghost no wait it wasn't" "Help me I don't remember 3 hours ago" and "let's find a lost earring in a swimming pool!" have done nothing for the cast. Satoshi continues to be the same wiggly, yappy imp he was at square one. Mayaka continues to be a bitch whose sole redeeming trait is calling Hotaro out on his shit. Hotaro, for his part, is Droopy Dog with the slightest hints of human decency.
It's hard to give a fuck when the show itself does not.
I thought you liked Hyouka?
I thought all of you did?
If you think the show isn't focusing on characters st this point already, you've been missing a lot.Being entirely fair to the show, if there are more arcs like the one about Chitanda's uncle I'll be okay. It's these arcs that aren't like that that feel like filler and bore me. I assume that at some point the show will move on to focusing on its characters, so when we get there, it'll be all cool.
Don't worry, you are not alone. Hyouka is a total borefest.

Oh yeah, for all Kon fans, the next Kon-narrated Tokyo Ravens information video is up, this time with what seems to be her profiling all the main characters that have shown up so far:

Magi anime sales are a hilarious history of declining numbers.
Even with an event ticket the v1w1 for season 2 failed to sell more than the ninth volume of season 1. My, my, Haruka, aren't you popular! A golden-haired girl on each arm...wait, I'm getting flashbacks to KinMoza...
This episode also made me finally learn the two least interesting girls' names. Thank you, Mitsuki-kaichou, for getting Yuzu's name wrong all those times so that I could get it right. Your sacrifice will not be in vain(?) ...It also helps that the show keeps using their namesakes as symbols.
Haruka and Yuu are still the stars of this show, though. So much delicious kissing. This show is a miracle.
Which is good because I also haven't watched TV in about three years.
I find it hard to believe you missed the needlessly bitter arguments over the show that happened not too long ago, but maybe your brain was just melted at the time!

There are several people who don't like the show. Myself included. And several people told you from the start that if you didn't like it you'd probably be best served to just drop the show. Can't say people didn't warn you or whatever!

Speaking of which, how about that Kenya Boy?

I mean within the past few months, but yeah, as somebody who only got into the show recently that vocal minority left the greatest impression on me. I'm perfectly fine with it being seen as a show with a divided reception, though. So many fights on AnimeGAF its hard to remember them all
I'll admit despite me being around and voting for Hyouka as my #1, my memory is just of a really vocal minority who hated it.
