Wow thats even better. Izuru seems like a great main character, that pose. The girls mechs look alright too, oh and that sword.

i haven't watched that many shows with them ( scryed, seed + destiny , heroic age ,

New opening is slick and cool , with a nice use of special effects with the j-pop. Good stuff as usual.
A usual this arc started by a genuine comical situation that raise a new problem in the hero lives.
Standard gintama comedy then, with a lot of good situations .... this episode would have been "good" , until ....

Kick the can is SERIOUS BUSINESS in all sunrise shows. ( remember daily lives of high school boys ? ) Now i want a gundam themed kick the can episode !
Anyway , the new ending theme is also pretty cool , i hope it will grow on me , but so far, i have a hard time forgetting " Samourai heart " .
VERDICT : VERY GOOD

Well, as expected this closes Ikki's arc. And while I was already uninterested in him to begin with, this arc doesn't exactly paint either Ikki or the otome lead in a good light.

There were a lot of low points in that anime than high points. Compounded with that awful character design made it much worse.
But powering through that show to catch those high points until the end left me with a relieved feeling. Yeah, that show wasn't so bad.
I may or may not be a closet masochist.
They should stick to mecha.

Also, judging by the ending to this series and Getter Robo: Armageddon all the continuities be linked in some ridiculous way, if someone wanted to link them all up.
[New Getter Robo] - Overall
I guess this was an all right series. Like other Go Nagai works that I've seen, it started out kind of okay but then carried on building upon itself until it was pretty awesome. Despite the fact that my enjoyment of the series increased overtime the actual quality of the production remained fairly flat, which is a little disappointing. Despite some nice moments here and there this OVA looked kind of rough in a number of spots. There was an unpleasant mixture of off-model character designs and lousy animation that wasn't helped by some extremely flat visual direction and questionable editing. I enjoyed the show in spite of these issues only because I was entrained by the course the story went it and how blood thirsty everyone was.
Incidentally, I think this is why I could never get into Mazinkaiser or Mazinkaiser SKL, they just felt like very tepid works that never went full on insane like this series does.
Considering everything I've said above it's really quite hard for to recommend this series. If you've already seen some much better Super Robot stuff e.g. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Giant Robo and Shin Mazinger Z and you want more of the than this series might be up your ally. For everyone else, I'd check one of the far more polished offerings that are available.

I assume it's just "on the list" because 4chan latched onto it for being hardcore shotacon pornography. Having not seen it, presumably it's unpleasant viewing in a different way to the other troll recommendations people like to throw out like School Days.

Now, from what I've seen of the Arise trailer it looks a little bit better than that.
Yeah, that's bothering me too.
It's okay, none of you are real peoples so it doesn't count.
No, bad story, bad characters, and bad CG robots with terrible designs made me sad. They managed to even ruin the action, the only part that made the original even remotely watchable.

Judging by the lack of noise by anyone else in this thread, not very likely.
After seeing the trailer, I don't think it looked quite as uninteresting as Psycho-Pass. Character designs were odd and color was off, but the overall world design looks cool. Like some of the tech design like the bike. Music was good too. Look doesn't matter much to me anyway. New GitS will make or break on story.

Sometimes you can't necessarily see the consequences of your actions immediately. There are more readers than contributors, at any rate.
I just hope they don't follow your example of wading through the Island Arc. While those episodes are far from the worst thing ever created I really don't like how the ruin the tempo of the series.
