There's been a lot of action-y scenes in the new episodes this season. Probably a good thing they used their budget for a smaller run of episodes. Looks like Shinpachi may get a chance in the spotlight next week. He deserves some awesome time.

This started out as some kinda commentary on sexism and the double standards it entailed but eventually ended up as this weird disjointed mess of detached nihilism with Kaji and her creepy old artsy fartsy lover(?)... or something as I don't really know what the fuck this episode was about. Maybe someone smarter than I can spell it out for me as either this episode was just poorly written or I'm just too dumb to get it. Whatever, hopefully the last one ends on a strong note but I can't say I'm expecting much after that "bombshell" ending.

The :sdburton subtext was all over the place in this one.

I know I shouldn't expect too much from my little girl cartoons in terms of things like physics, but this episode hurt my brain a lot. There were tons of weird transitions between cuts during the main fight, with the most egregious example being when White jumps on top of Black (cough), Pisard goes away flying next, and immediately after he's standing like nothing happened on top of the train. And speaking of Pisard, it's

unbelievably stupid that he goes out of his way to corner Honoka and finally kill heronly for him to give back the magical gizmo that allows her to transform because of the honour of the fight. I'm not expecting him to be ruthless (he literally threw a huge scrap of metal two meters away from Honoka when he was standing right in front of her), but his motivation makes absolutely no sense. At first he's desperate to survive, and the next moment he's acting all honourable and crap.

it was kind of a jerk move that they would show Honoka realising the horror of killing your opponent in battle only to hand wave it in the next line by claiming he only went back to the twilight zone or what the shit.

Choose a fucking tone, you stupid cartoon.

I suppose I just handwave stuff like that. It doesn't register to me as wrong, just "as anime always was". Lots of times the heroine is seemingly defeated only to be given another chance seemingly for no reason at all.

The UK has it scheduled for this fall, and now Australia is getting it this summer (well, I guess it would be winter to them) -- the Cowboy Bebop BD box is going down under thanks to Madman in July.

Now, if somebody, anybody in the U.S. would be so kind as to stop fucking around and get this over here...

Windy Tales 10

Another nice episode.

This episode was sort of about dreams. It returns a few times to a dream that Nao is having where she's on the moon. At first it reminded me a little of Millennium Actress, but it has its own beautiful imagery. I like how they embellish it.

I mean, for starters, she's not wearing a spacesuit. Such are the powers of dreams.

In short, all the characters have interesting dreams, and their reactions to them reflect their personalities. It was good. I'm really enjoying how Miki and Jun's relationship is developing.

There's a lot of layers of humor in the movie theater scene. The reaction images are obvious, but the animators also put a lot of care into the things Ryoko was doing in the background.

I could watch episodes of this show every week forever.

Oofuri is pretty fun so far. Mihashi sounds like Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, Teiichi Niiya, I think, which is good cause I like that his voice. The characters look like their in permanent blush mode which makes many of the scenes pretty interesting.

Abe and Mihashi really seem like the perfect pitcher catcher combo and I hope they make it far, if Mihashi can just keep on trusting him and putting his faith in him, Hanai is good to have around though hope hes actually a good hitter, and I really want to see some of the other characters get in on the action too, like. Tajima. Fun enjoyable episode, will definitely stick with this.

Windy Tales 10

The best thing about Thursdays is unwinding to watch yet another episode of this series and this weeks one certainly didn't disappoint. The characters seemed far more expressive than usual, most notably being the funny theater sequence and the surreal dream sequences. The single standout moment in this episode however was the phenomenal daydream sequence by Ohira which just completely blew me away in the 30 seconds it lasted for. The final dream sequence was also a pretty fantastic way of capping off the episode, especially when combined with the incredibly charming ending. God I love this show.

I could watch episodes of this show every week forever.

I like Hirai. His designs are refreshing in the sea of moeblob garbage. It's nice to have a designer who actually conveys the fact that not everyone in the world is an idol or supermodel. Ugly people represent!

I'm the same... the only time where his design annoyed me were in linebarrels but that was because the show was awefull.
Scryed was fine,seed was fine and heroic age was alright. As long as the team animating has talent there is hope.
