Something I just learned -- Irino and Hanazawa previously co-starred as the leads in all the Book Girl anime adaptations, so they should hopefully have some great chemistry for The Garden of Words.

Just the first part of MSG. Which is infinitely better than all of GUndam AGE. Gundam AGE is only better than getting shot in the head.

You're missing a lot of context for other series then as so many other shows borrow elements from the original UC stuff. I have no idea if this affects others but I always see characters in terms of Amuro/Char/etc. AGE is really blatant about using the archetypes but simplifying them and there's a certain fascination for me in the "what if?" scenarios presented. I understand where you're coming from as I don't think I'd enjoy it all if i was watching it in a vacuum.

Record of Lodoss War 3

Something I love about Lodoss is that Parn sucks. As in, he has no talent with a sword (just potential) and everyone, including Deedlit, makes sure to tell him. In this episode, Parn and his parnty met up with Deedlit (who is definitely babe class but we'll call a Ranger because, well, she's an Elf.) and Woodchuck, who is a thief. The fort they all met in got attacked by the Black Knight and Parn got his butt whooped. Random Encounters everywhere.

I got that vibe in the first arc of Gundam AGE, that Flit was Amuro, but Flit is ultimately more like Patrick Zala than Amuro Ray. Seriously, the last episode has him doing something the villains in Gundam SEED were hated for.

EDIT: Also I'm working my way through UC so I can be more informed of this stuff.

Oh hey, I never noticed that she had a mole. That seems oddly specific, given how perfect anime girls tend to be in terms of their designs. lol

And hey, an episode all about
:Kanna
. Just like last week's episode, now that I think about it. Good times. lol

(And still fitting in with the theme of communication that I posited!)

That share button makes me want a specialised keyboard, where I just press "share" to make a post here including a screenshot of what I am just watching and a couple of reactions ranging from :sdburton over :firehawk to :DTL.

My postcount would be the biggest postcount.

I, for one, am glad that Sony partnered with the NRA to produce a console.

Seriously, was there a game there that didn't involve shooting someone?

Sony's really on a roll with the diversity in these conferences.

Vita Heaven 2 - lots of MonHun clones.
PS4 reveal - paranoid libertarian wet dream revenge fantasies.

Again, I really wasn't paying attention. What are you guys talking about with this? Is this from that weird David Cage tech demo? Is it that Killzone game thinking it has a mature story and themes?

Edit: I should probably go check Gaming side, but it's kinda crazy right now.

Maybe I'll finally get that God of Modern Warfare promised in the first God of War bonus materials.

Watch Dogs and Infamous: Second Son with their painfully heavy-handed depictions of Orwellian government intrusion into the lives of citizens and heroes that rise up against the evils of OUR TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT.

Huh okay. I was interested in Watch Dogs after last E3. I'll check that out tomorrow.

Orwellian government in inFamous wut? I never finished 2, but that doesn't sound right.

Now I know what I forgot to post earlier -- the fantastic background art from The Garden of Words official site. (Note: the site autoplays the Youtube trailer when you load it, FYI)

It's a huge picture, so I only put a smaller thumbnail below.

Please please please I hope this gets screened in NorCal as soon as possible...

The artwork is gorgeous.
Also gaming is shit.

EMERGENCY NOTICE: If you intend to watch Usagi Drop via Crunchyroll, you should do so immediately, as their streaming license runs out at the end of the month.

Why don't they give longer advance notice? It's like when they announced Eureka Seven was about to expire and they suggested folk get it all in over the next four days.

That guy seriously really likes feet. They should call it Garden of Feet.

Seems weird to me to have licenses run out like that. All that means is that you're no longer getting money from people who want to try an anime before they buy it.

I know Usagi Drop is on Hulu in the form of Bunny Drop, which I assume is the localization. Is that getting dropped as well?

I... guess not? Don't see anything on the Hulu page about it being removed, at least. Then again it looks like it's on Hulu via NISA, whereas the CR publisher is Fuji TV, so that might explain it...

This is why I just buy physical releases.
All this pick and choose limited time streaming stuff is bullshit.

I don't think license holders really make much money at all from having their shows on Crunchyroll. And Crunchyroll's core audience is more interested in immediate new content than catalog titles, so they have little reason to go out of their way to retain licenses.
