Thx for the screens mio.
I love discussing visuals. It's always accompanied with talks of downgrades, which can easily derail a thread. But I mean... we don't have our hands on the game yet, so there's a finite number of topics to discuss. And The Witcher 2 gave the series a reputation of being somewhat of a graphical powerhouse. So visuals are definitely going to be a topic of conversation. It's unavoidable. But it also upsets people.
Thx for the quest censoring.
Some of the screenshots released have got me a few times so far.
Dear CDPR,
I have your game preordered since it's reveal and I haven't seen a single footage of it running on my platform of choice (PS4). The game will launch in a few days and you have shown the game running on powerful PCs that my rumble console can't match. Will you be kind enough to show me some footage before I start pulling my hair out of fear and curiosity?
Sincerely,
THEBONDIGTY

About optimization of PS4 pre-release version (without patch):
"I enjoy the fact that during fight with greater number of enemies - animation was solid, holding 30 frames per second"
"most upset were loadings after death or fast trip options - they took about 40 second, maybe in day-1 patch they will fix it"
"during a gallop objects appear in the distance"
"music delights"
I'm still thinking that Witcher is going to be GOTY![]()
What "upsets" me about downgrade "discussions" on GAF and elsewhere -- and I'll be brutally honest here -- is that the vast majority of the posters engaging in them are simply not equipped to conduct it in any meaningful way. By that I mean that they compare apples to oranges, can't accurately distinguish between artistic and technical qualities and decisions, or between composition and ToD changes, asset changes, post-processing changes and rendering changes, or are getting emotional or accusatory. And when such people dominate the technical discourse on a game -- and that usually happens when "downgrades" are being discussed -- then it gets exceedingly tiresome to try and have a meaningful discussion.
Good thing you can save with 1 button on the PC![]()
Boom. Exactly what makes downgrade discussion so fucking exhausting for me. I love discussing technology and rendering, downgrades included, even with my limited knowledge. But the discussion is frequently polluted by misinformation and poor analysis from people who are even less information and inquisitive. There's no dialogue to be had, it's just pissing and moaning about screenshots and footage that subjectively doesn't "look as good" as a completely different set of screenshots and footage.

I agree. It is really tiring to constantly read discussions about how it looks now compared to how it did. Personally, I really don't care, I just want to play the game not analyze every strand of grass or cloth.
I'd even say that analyzing every strand of grass is fine in a technical thread. As long as you are actually performing meaningful analysis.I agree. Only care about solid framerate![]()

Posting .gifs is not analysis.
Does anybody know if the console builds, in Australia/EU specifically, will have dual language support? A friend is interested in grabbing the PS4 build but would prefer to play in Polish.
Every copy of the game will include Polish and English language.
Bah, I'm starting to see NPC repetition. I knew it had to happen, but I was hoping it wouldn't be as obvious.
I'm seeing the repetition as well, but something to keep in mind is that these NPC's we're noticing as repetitive might be dozens of hours apart storywise, or on opposite ends of the world. We've seen a big mix of footage/screenshots, so perhaps it won't seem quite so apparent when actually playing.
Wait, which NPC did you seen already?
The one with the hat.

I actually hope TW3 is less dense than Skyrim. I'm tired of open world games with points of interest every 100ft. I'd like things to be believably spaced out for a change. Not realistically to the point where you spend too much time getting from place to place, but enough to where you don't get potato land like in Skyrim. From the looks of it, even though each of TW3's main maps is bigger than Skyrim, I wouldn't be surprised if each one actually had fewer settlements and caves.
That article was absolutely fantastic. It is nice to see that Czech version has such dedicated translators, it is pretty much confirmed that CZ will be the best version with Polish just like previous two games (and books).
Looking forward to playing it in Czech, with English voice acting.

What about French ?
Just skimmed the Angry Joe video and it was awesome to see his boat get ripped to pieces by monsters.
Did we ever get XB1 footage yesterday?

Yeah, that was the "holy shit!" moment for me, at first I even believed the siren had glitched and was stuck in the boat, but no, it was destroying part of it.
I was thinking the same thing. I thought they said we'd get XB1 footage yesterday and PS4 footage next week. No, there would be a new thread for console footage.
