Witcher 3 gameplay from YouTubers from CDPR event

It will be interesting to see what they managed with console optimisation. PC's Recommended settings are apparently 1080p on medium/high. Consoles are running on high.

Anyway, already preordered the digital edition on PS4. Took a week off and really looking forward to diving in.

These are quite the conclusions you're jumping to. It's Tuesday.. They said this week. How is it looking more and more like we won't see anything until 2+ weeks from now?

This forum would be a much better place if people stopped making shit up.

Calm down grandma, I haven't made up shit! I'm giving my OPINION, I didn't say anything definite, so learn some basic reading comprehension, before you get your panties all in a twist.

There must be some kind of embargo on that footage, because Playstation Poland is still not sure when they'll be able to show the footage they took at CDPR.

Internet lives by a hyperbole and dies by a hyperbole :b

It's not the looks (aka graphics) console gamers should be concerned about. It's the framerate, and pop in textures. After 3 years, those that are getting this on consoles still haven't seen anything to answer our concerns.

So basically you want console version trailer, but in truth you want Digital Foundry breakdown that you won't get anyways before game is out? Trailer won't tell you how steady performance is, maybe some popin stuff can be spotted.

Edit:

Receipts on that one? Interesting statement if official.

So, still no console version footage? Are we supposed to pre-order this game for the Ps4/Xb1 on PC gameplay alone and trust them? This is getting annoying.

You're not supposed to preorder anything. If you're worried about the game, wait for reviews.

I am more interested in how it performs. That is why I need to hear more about framerate especially under stressful moments.

Well, how has pretty much every open world game performed during stressful moments? Sub 30 FPS. Probably not much lower, in the mid 20's but that's how it's been.

I'm not sure why you are expecting differently.

Consoles will be runnig a mix of medium and high, just like every other multiplat this gen.

I'll say it again, what I want: direct console gameplay footage. And yes, you can tell framerate, and texture pop-in with your own eyes from direct gameplay footage. Go look at any The Evil Within direct gameplay video, and tell me how can a non-blind person not see the framerate drops and pop in textures? Exactly. I rest my case.

It's not a statement, it's just vague wording of Playstation responses on their facebook profile when asked about the material they teased 2 weeks ago.

I am calm. You're the one capitalizing and underlining for emphasis.
I have no problem with your opinion and never said anything you said was definite.
My panties also never got twisted.

Relax.

I simply took issue with your wording. "Looking more and more like" indicates mounting evidence. Of which we have absolutely none.

Kinga, interesting name for hot girl :D

That said nice find with that link! More offscreen PS4 footage is better than nothing.

Edit: Estimated that it takes 2 months for average player to do pretty much everything in TW3? Mother of God...

whatever, I don't get these different timezone names anyway.

I didn't mean it to be personal poke at you. A lots of people don't use correct timezones even if their sense of time is right. They say e.g. 7PM CET and know it's 7PM tonight even if it's CEST. To me personally it creates some mindfuck because some official site, e.g. GOG, may say 7PM GMT and I need guess if they literally mean GMT or mean BST, but didn't use correct timezone identifier. That is one hour difference after all.

What's with things such as bushes and trees disappearing just before they go out of frame? Is that due to the tech they're using that only generates what the player can see/is in the cone of view of the character? I remember seeing a video about it a while ago, so I'm guessing it's that. It's no big deal, just a slightly distracting nitpick. :P

And hnnngh at the dense foliage in this game. If there's one thing I love about games this gen, it's dense vegetation.

Considering how obvious effect that is, trees and such disappearing from edges of screen, it's intended function in order to increase visibility player has to his surroundings. imo that is very good solution as I don't want some bush filling my screen when drowner is humping my leg.

Seems more like a design decision to not obstruct the player's view

It probably fades due to gameplay purposes, so that the bushes and trees don't cover up the screen and you can't see what's going on during a battle etc.

Well it's better than blocking your View.

I'm not talking about making objects invisible that are in front of the camera like most games do these days, I'm talking about objects that aren't obscuring the camera disappearing just before they disappear out of the frame. I understand the former and welcome it, there's nothing worse than shit camera angles when in the midst of battle.

This is the tech I was talking about. I just wish they would set it so that small objects disappear out of frame, instead of just before.
