Apparently, Nvidia stream service has something to do with game performance.
Kill it to boost FPS.
nvidia already fixed this with a driver update

Another THANK YOU! Gah, briliant!
What files do i delete or change filename to skip the intros when you open the game?
I want it to go straight to main menu
anyone know what's up with 4k giving the sun glare these rings?
When turning on FXAA in nV control panel, what do I do with the other AA settings?
Honestly for me vram usage has been low. At 1440 everything on ultra mine tops at 2.2gbSo, my trusty old PC is rocking...
- GTX670 2gb
- 8gb ram
- i5 3570K 3.4ghz
For some games it smokes my PS4, but the low v-ram of my 670 is starting to get worrying. Will I get better performance out of my computer or PS4 here? I probably won't be upgrading for a while.
This Micro Stutter is killing me. Even when I go to the lowest settings it still happens. Im fine for about a min, and then it starts. Sound, video, controls all Stutter.
Has anybody had this issue, and if so did you find a way around it? I thought it may of had to do with my gamepad, but I get the same issues with M&KB
Are the beta drivers out yet, or did I miss this?
Try Max pre rendered frames: 1 in nvidia control panel
Also if you're windowed, try fullscreen, and vice versa
The game-ready drivers are out if that's what you mean?
I'm still thrilled the game is so playable with my 7850, but I notice in the area past the tutorial map that the weather effects (rain) can drop things below what is comfortable. I'm hoping the driver update can boost things. 3-5 more FPS on the minimum side would make all the difference.
What settings are you using? Do you have it locked at 30fps?

A mix of high and ultra, capped at 30. I tweaked things until there were next to no dips in that big starting area, but after that point, there are more dips. There are surprisingly few settings that make much of a difference. I can always adjust some things further, but now I'm used to those pretty graphics!
MSI 970.
I did. Twice and it was ignored. Search for it.
This is the one it fixed. Yes.
Not the crash I mean. I should have been more clear. I mean the freeze with the audio continuing. No display driver error. That's something else.
If the game's FPS cap solution is bad (I don't know if it is since I haven't been able to hop on and play it yet) there's something you can try (this was the best method for 30fps GTA 5):For 30fps lock, any recommendations (e.g. INI) to reduce stutter/jitter as much as possible? On AMD GPU.
Thanks.
ok i just started it up with a 860m and an I7 4700HQ
i can run it PERFECTLY on ultra
dont meet minimum requirements my ass Can You Run It!
asus laptop btw
now if youll excuse me i need to go beat the first 2 before June 4th

Vsync on in control panel (normal vsync not half), cap FPS to 30 with RTSS. Triple Buffering on.
This game looks amazing on my 770 locked at 30fps. I have to turn down quite a lot for 60, it's not worth it to me in this game.
The cutscenes stutter though what's with that.
Howd you get triple buffering?

Actually you probably won't need triple buffering since it only works for OpenGL games. If you have no tearing then by all means turn vsync off, but I'd try it on to see if it helps the stutter and basically to have consistent frame delivery and output. Only issue is it will cause a bit of input lag.Yeah people have reported that the in-game limiter does a bad job with pacing so capping in RivaTuner is a better option.
Is there any reason to have vsync/triple buffering on if you aren't experiencing tearing?
Does Radeonpro still work with Witcher 3?With Radeon Pro. I just made sure I had RP set to 32/64 bit mode.
I have a similar PC. I wish I was like you, but I can't stand the unlocked frame rate. I've locked it to 30.

I have HD7970 DCU2.
put the frame setting to unlimited.I'm sorry to say this did not fix the issue for me. I thought we were golden, but after somewhere between 1 and 2 hours of play, the game locked on me again. This time, it wasn't during a cutscene or a menu, just while riding my horse around the world. No error, music keeps playing.
FWIW, here are my specs:
Core i5 2500 3.3ghz (3.6 turbo)
8 GB DD3
EVGA GTX 980 4GB @ 1266mhz (1367mhz boost)
Win 8.1
Gaming is running off a 7200rpm HDD
Still no clue what is causing this, here's a list of things I've tried (with no success)
- Disabling Shadowplay
- Exiting Geforce Experience entirely
- Setting Nvidia Control Panel to "Max Performance" for the game
- Verifying Steam cache
- Rolling Nvidia drivers back to GTA5 game-ready drivers from April 14 (don't quote me on the date)
It should be noted that I did a clean uninstall/reinstall of the drivers - removed the driver through device manager, downloaded the GTA5 driver from Nvidia's website, restarted, installed GTA5 driver, restarted, played game. I also stopped running the game through Big Picture.
Is it at all relevant here that I'm using HDMI?
Oh I'm playing in Fullscreen. I haven't tried Borderless Windowed, but it seems like that is causing its own set of problems, and I've had people say that does not fix this issue.

Ok so I'm 90% sure the "stutter" when rotating the camera slowly with a gamepad is an issue with the controller input and not frame-pacing or anything like that.
I just did a test where I stood in place and rotated the camera, got the stutter. Then I walked Geralt in circles in the exact same spot, letting the camera auto rotate with him, no stutter. Stopped Geralt, rotated cam manually again, stutter.
