Lego Horizon may open the floodgates for PlayStation games on other platforms. Will Astro Bot be next? I think it would be amazing on the go.
Hasn't been announced but definitely what I'm looking forward togt7 on pc maybe? or was that already announced
It's on the Switch man. On. The. Switch. Not so stealth Sony Too thread lol.
Xbox evangelists only care when they think they can score a 'win' against PlayStationThe Wonderful 101 (a first-party Nintendo game) was released on PS4 years ago, and no one made a fuss about that...
Not to even mention the two Nintendo-produced Project Zero games.
This is a Horizon Lego game not a proper Horizon game so I wouldn't put too much stock in other games coming to consoles unless they are partnered up like this.
Nintendo sold the IP to Platinum before it got a PS4 release (in exchange they bought out Platinum's share of the Astral Chain IP)The Wonderful 101 (a first-party Nintendo game) was released on PS4 years ago, and no one made a fuss about that...

Apparently Nintendo sold their rights of the game back to Platinum, it was only ported to non-Nintendo systems after thatThe Wonderful 101 (a first-party Nintendo game) was released on PS4 years ago, and no one made a fuss about that...
Not sure if I agree with this, how did Ape Escape 1/2/3 and Knack 1/2 fair against Astro Bot?Apparently Nintendo sold their rights of the game back to Platinum, it was only ported to non-Nintendo systems after that

Anyway, to answer this question, I have to imagine a lot of older Japan Studio games and IPs can get revivals that also hit Switch/2 (especially since a lot of the audience of those kinds of games is on Nintendo and PC now, and not PlayStation any longer). I don't expect to see any more beyond that, but if Sony does prove me wrong, I will take it as an indication that they are committed to following in Microsoft's footsteps in the mid to long term.
I think this actually ties in nicely with our discussion in the other thread – I would say if Sony is willing to license out legacy and beloved (niche beloved, but beloved) IPs for release on competing (so to say) platforms for better gains on those re-releases, then I think they are losing the plot when it comes to being a platform holder and a first party. As I said in that other thread, I would expect Sony to take a loss on these types of projects to add to the appeal of their console's overall lineup, like they have been doing in the past. And unlike with, for example, God of War Ragnarok or Spider-Man 2, where cross gen and/or PC releases were all but necessary for those to make any fiscal sense, these are going to be very low budget re-releases that should feasibly be able to turn a tidy profit even on PS5 alone. Not sure if I agree with this, how did Ape Escape 1/2/3 and Knack 1/2 fair against Astro Bot?

and not PlayStation any longer
Oh. Honestly a lot of Astro's success is down to it being a substantially better game in terms of critical reception and word of mouth; and even with that accounted for, it topping out at 1.5 million in spite of the rave acclaim is I think fairly illustrative of the point I am making (the audience for a game like that isn't necessarily on PlayStation atm, on at least Switch I can imagine it doing easily 2-5x more as a bare minimum, without even invoking 3D Mario sales)That post was more directed at this part:
