As much as this does NOT look like what Superman or Batman should look like, if someone forced me to put posters of any of them on the wall of my living room, I'd probably put these two there before any of the classical renditions. OK, maybe I'd opt for Moebius' Batman instead:

It goes both ways though. I would definitely not like to see any of these Amano's designs in the comic book.

Amano's characters all seem to have some very distinct (though they're usually kinda like.. a slit) eyes. That Batman picture doesn't have that. So the viewer focus on the overall shape of the character instead - which is twisted and not very likable.

The more I look at the Superman one the more I like it. His cape is drawn like a petal.
