No lie, I barely even knew he was a character.Antony is the true star of Ant-Man and deserves a nod at the Oscars.

This is why I kind of picked it out to have a "disappointing" return. The audience that's interested in retro game nostalgia probably doesn't overlap much with people who are in to Adam Sandler movies (or even tolerate them). The only shot it had to overcome that was to be an amazing movie but I'm sure we all could predict that wasn't going to happen.
Anyone up for a Fantastic Four pool? Just a friendly guessing game

Someone is going to paid thousands of dollars to tell him the obvious statement of the material not being nearly as popular as The Fault in Our Stars, despite being from the same author. It's the same reason why some Nicholas Sparks adaptations do really well and why some don't.
Just do the Looking For Alaska movie. It's the best of the three anyway.
That's coming next, Sarah Polley's even writing the screenplay.
Is she directing, too?
Pixels snagged a halfway decent $25.4 million overseas bow in a debut representing around 40% of the market at this time.
Wow, didn't know Minions only had a $74 million budget. That film is raking in the dough.
Wow, 50 seems a little high to me, but I've been inundated with an almost nonstop tsunami of negativity constantly crashing against the rocks.
But I think it'll do better than Marvel-heads are wishing/hoping/anticipating because general audience is looking at it more like a sci-fi film - which, really, is what all superhero movies are. Fantastic Four is being sold as a sci-fi flick that just happens to be based on an old comic that had a couple really shitty movies made out of it a decade ago.
Pixels flopped? Had no idea Adam Sandler's output was waning in popularity. The last Sandler flick I paid to go see was Punch Drunk Love, so I'm kind of glad that maybe this might instigate him to pick better projects if the low hanging fruit isn't popping.

That article says she's writing/directing, but now Rebecca Thomas is directing (and that the script is from the Fault in Our Stars writers).
boxoffice.com has it at 50M but they will update it soon.
Do you think Sony is gonna drop Adam Sandler like a rock after this underperformance?
It wouldn't surprise me considering all the restructuring they've done in their other divisions.
He's not in some blackmail or big studio contract deal that he has to be part of bad movies. Dude's not hurting financially. I still can blame him.His movies still make lots of money, for the most part. Sadly, stuff like Punch Drunk Love and Funny People are his worst performing movies. Shit like Jack and Jill and of course the Grown Ups movies made tons of money. So, can't really blame him for going to where the money is. That's kind of what you do with careers.
I could see that happening. FF feels like a wildcard to me that could go either way.
Well that's shitty. Wonder why they went away from Polley on that.
What? Why didn't they go with Polley?
Very depressed numbers all-around. Even Ant-Man's drop, despite being #1, was pretty significant.
I will never understand the draw of the characters from Minions. Makes absolutely no sense to me.
It also opened less than every Marvel movie not called Incredible Hulk. So having the same percentage fall isn't really a positive. It's no different than most MCU films.

Its marketing budget must have been 3x that alone.
SureYou mean something like "over/under for OW"?
The company that makes them prides themselves on keeping the budget as small as possible. I remember an article about how they cut shit to the bone to keep the first movie under 80milWow, didn't know Minions only had a $74 million budget. That film is raking in the dough.

I know, but it seemed to have pretty good word-of-mouth, so I thought something in the 45-50% range was more likely.I'm well aware but I'm not trying to say the drop is a positive. It is just a normal drop and to be expected.
