Any overall estimates on where this could end up?

Passing Furious 7?

Possibly.

Don't think JW is big enough overseas.

After 2nd weekend excluding China

Furious 7: $483 million
Jurassic World: $416 million

But JW will have a $300 million advantage on domestic over Furious 7 (which Age of Ultron didn't have).

It is going to be a close fight.

I think $1.6B is optimistic, even assuming $650M domestic.

Jurassic World will lose close to $200M of that advantage to the difference in China grosses. Like I said, Gitesh is being optimistic. If you sync up the territories by release date, I am pretty sure that JW is behind Age of Ultron overseas.

If JW beats AoU worldwide because of its domestic gross, it'd be kinda funny since furious 7 beat it due to its international BO.

Speaking of F7, has it passed Avengers yet?

Jurassic World will beat Age of Ultron due to its domestic gross. I think AoU will be on top overseas (unless JW blows up in Japan), but it won't be by the $150-225M that Jurassic World will be ahead domestically (depending on legs).

It doesn't look like Furious 7 will pass Avengers worldwide, unless Universal does a gross correction down the road. The film died last weekend.

I feel like they are lowballing JW again.

I think that Universal is doing the same thing they did last weekend. Father's Day will probably get them the second weekend record, even with a lower Friday/Saturday gross. However, they don't want to look foolish if they claim a record and then a soft Sunday gross loses it. This will be another close call.

Jurassic World should definitely beat Furious 7 and Avengers if it grosses $600m+ domestically (which is a near lock, now). The movie should be able to do $900m overseas.

Here's another query - will AoU be able to edge past a billion overseas after releasing in Japan? Looks unlikely at this point.

It's at $918m without Japan and it has another month or so in the theaters. I think it'll get close, but not enough to squeak past.

How accurate are the-numbers? They're saying $1.52b as the final total. Do they have countries that didn't tracked by anyone else or something.

I had to look up how much the first one made in Japan. Only $45m. Yeah, I don't think Japan is going to push this one past $1b internationally.
