Good to see Lucy do well; I got rather tired of the "female lead action movies don't do well because it's female lead" BS excuse.
No it didn't, it made $359 million WW. You guys have no idea what a bomb is.
Don't tell some posters that, they think everything is a "Bomba".
She shot him in the leg. You hear him say "oh, my leg" or something like that when they pull out.
Wonder if DC is having second thoughts about Rocky staring in a superhero film for them.
of course they did, how else could they be armchair angryI think they just watched the trailer.
Glad Rock had the highest grossing Hercules movie this year!
Hail Xenu!Tom Cruise, is that you?
No. Movies need to make back at least double.Haha, Lucy is already in the black.

It will though.

I'm sure Marvel are tracking the success of Lucy in perspective of a Black Widow solo film but I feel she was already a second main character in the Captain America films - I really can't see them making one but would not be surprised if they did.
In Winter Soldier you mean? She wasn't even in the first one at all.
lucy is a terrible movie
Lucy budget surprisingly low.
They only used 10% of their budget.

Lucy is R-rated in the States it's only a 12A here. Pretty big difference I mean it's not even a 15.
Not sure if serious.jpgThe line between PG and R in the US is a rather fine one these days. The country needs a rating between the two already, like, well, everywhere else.
11) HTTYD 1 (2010, $165 million budget): $494,878,759
13) HTTYD 2 (2014, $145 million budget): $424,129,000 (estimated)

Second best movie of the summer behind Godzilla.
Sucks for Hercules but after hearing about theI'm kinda glad.bait and switch

(The first half was less serious in service of driving home the second -- Lucy is an extreme example, but I do think the lack of a 15+ rating in the US is a bit of a problem as it results in many films being rated higher than they should.)

I have no intention of seeing it but I'm curious about the spoiler. How was it a bait and switch?
PG-13?

We have PG-13, the sweet spot most action movies aim for.itsamystery.gif

The bad news is that we likely won't get a Black Widow movie regardless.Good to see Lucy do well; I got rather tired of the "female lead action movies don't do well because it's female lead" BS excuse.
You can thank the scrapped Black Widow script for that.Yeah sorry, I meant Winter Solider. It was the right balance having them both in the film as main characters to a point were there is no need for a solo film - even in The Avengers she had as much screen time as Captain America.
Really hope that HTTYD 2 can at least match the original.

PG13 has been the curse of action movies for long time. If there were something between PG13 and R maybe more studios would not butcher their movies to fit PG13.

I hope so too
As it is, it's probably the biggest disappointment of the summer gross wise.
Maleficent being so strong probably didn't help, maybe they should have moved it back a week
You think The Maze Runner could break out like that? the trailer is interesting, but how popular are the books?
We took the Pegi ratings to apply to movies too couple of years ago (Finland) so we have S (for all), 7, 12, 16 and 18. This leads to some rather weird ratings though with Hollywood movies. Some borderline R movies that are still PG 13 in US are rated 16 but then again also most R movies are rated 16 too lol.I don't want to derail this thread into a film certification but I think the UK has the best rating system with U, PG, 12A, 15 and 18 and the BBFC get it right the majority of the time. Although with R you can have a adult present which the BBFC does not offer only with the 12 rating.
