Robin Williams second last movie
Honestly it's not the racial theme, sure some people complain on the internet but these are the same people that have no intention to see the film on the first place. The main problem with Annie is that it's a musical and the worst part of it is the music.i just checked imbdb by accident and saw 4.4 rating... most posters hated that they casted jamie fox since he is black and i guess original story had a white character? pretty horible crap from people there.... so much for exodus doing better if they had egyptians in it.
Exodus was just a bad to mediocre movie period. Even had they properly cast minorities into their respected roles, the movie would still have suffered from its lazy characterization and poor plotting, like, how fucking contrived was it to get Moses out of Egypt? I mean, come on.
The biggest issue is that I'll still be there to see his next film, too. Just like The Counselor and Prometheus before...
JJ Abrams and Ridley Scott are two directors who, like I don't get it. They typically work with garbage scripts these days... maybe they enjoy the challenge.
But hey now, all hope isn't lost, Blade Runner 2 has the best script that Harrison Ford has ever read!

- The Hobbit seems to be keeping pace with the previous 2 films overseas. I have been told that the film has a good Chinese release date, and may see a boost in that territory. No idea if that boost will be enough to ensure $1B worldwide though.
Irrelevant. People justify whitewashing because it "makes more money". If it doesn't make more money, then there's no reason to do it other than good ol' Hollywood racism. You shouldn't have to justify not whitewashing if there's no economic reason to whitewash in the first place. So if they had casted minorities they would have ended up giving money to movie goers?
Night at the Bomb, amirite? =p
Domestically GotG wins. And even then, it's looking like it'll be a close race to the finish line between GotG & Mockingjay (domestically).Actually transformers did. And maybe the hobbit

That's some straw man victory to hold on to.Domestically GotG wins. And even then, it's looking like it'll be a close race to the finish line between GotG & Mockingjay (domestically).

So it looks like $1 in every $10 spent in the domestic box office this year was spent on superhero films. If we count Big Hero 6, will be closer to $1 in every $8. Something to remember when we have 5+ a year starting in 2016.
#1 domestically has always been a thing. You act like that's not something studios brag about in their annual financial reports.

I'm well aware of that, but we're not studio execs. Just seems silly to be so invested in rather GoTG will "barely" hold off HG, "domestically".
Then again, I do the harlem shuffle every time a washed movie like Exodus does poorly.

Having watched Annie today there was a pretty big Helicopter-car chase that probably cost a fair bit. And the apartment its set in is very futuristic so that would have cost a lot. Obviously most of it goes to Foxx and Diaz

My eyes will get tired rolling at all the "Superheroes are ruining hollywood" thinkpieces
"Will?" We've already had some this year that are eye rolling-enducing.

I was starting to think that Mockingjay might not be able to take Guardians, but if Potter can could do $26M from this point Mockingjay can certainly do 35
Night at the museum 3 came out?
Well, the weekend after New Years will basically be another holiday weekend.. and the dailies should be quite strong for all films until the 5th. I would say that it's a lock on beating Guardians and it may even exceed $350M. It should beat it internationally too. GoG definitely had a good run though.I was starting to think that Mockingjay might not be able to take Guardians, but if Potter can could do $26M from this point Mockingjay can certainly do 35
A bit OT but are any interesting movies coming out in January? I realize it's the month movies are sent to die, I just thought there might be some glimmer.

Blackhat. That Black Sea submarine thriller could be decent, too.A bit OT but are any interesting movies coming out in January? I realize it's the month movies are sent to die, I just thought there might be some glimmer.
