There's very little respect for the Titans franchise. It's referred to mostly for being the worst 3D post-conversion and riding the 3D wave post Worthington's success in Avatar. With the first being held in low regard this isn't a sequel people were clamoring for.

Was reading back through the box office threads following Avatar's release. Ridiculously fun times.

Just got back from Wrath of the Titans. Not that impressive, but certainly better than the original. Liebesman's directing was decent, was just paired with a shitty fucking script. Looks like it'll do decently overseas. Easter weekend is next week, so it should hold decently. Not the end of the world, but judging from the direction of the second film, they weren't planning on a sequel anyway.
in the one or two ads i've seen he seems to talk with his original australian accent. does he talk like that throughout the entire film or are is it yet another case of worthington's accent going all over the place?
His accent is more consistent than Clash, but it still varies a little. I went back and watched Clash last night and I forgot how horrendously bad it is. I can't believe I bought that on blu ray because it is an abomination. And I love those types of films. Had to watch my blu ray of the original to clean my pallet.

Namely that it makes less in North America than the original did but it does better Internationally and it's final total worldwide is greater than the original film.
But there is some major competition coming up so it could yet fall off a cliff. But that WW opening weekend gross is impressive.

Very slim chance at this point. I'd think it will top out at $380-$385 at this point (potentially being generous).
I think if this were during the summer with easier repeat kid business, that might be more doable, but in April, the legs are just shorter by nature.
