Wolfenstein: The New Order |OT| They put Nazis on the Moon, Scheiß auf den Mond!

Eh, as long as the game ends on a high note, a little bit of slowness in the middle sounds bearable. I'm very big on endings.

Interested in this game, but note sure whether to go PS4 or PC. Any PC deals? Any physical version deals for the PS4?

I haven't seen any deals for this game anywhere. Was thinking of getting the PS4 version just because I generally don't play SP games of this nature twice so I could always just sell the PS4 version whenever I'm finished with it. Maybe pick up the PC version later down the road during a sale if I want to go at it again.

It's for the physical release, but the if you have Plus then you can get it for $54 on PSN

If it was just shooting it would most get likely get labelled "another corridor" shooter, so I'm happy when they mix things up a bit.

It's not without shooting ;)
I don't want to spoil, so it's hard to explain.

Can you explain it please? with
spoiler
of course.

Steal something and repair shit, is like a 90's FPS-adventure game. That's not bad FOR ME..."au contraire"

What about the AI at that point? You explined before that the difficulty scallated from the previos chapters...

I've seen some videos and man, the AI loooks WORST than Alien Colonial marines.

Nazi killing is back...hooorraaay!

And yes, this game does feel like a 90's FPS adventure game. The A.I is okay. Yeah, there are moments when you think "WTF, lol" but when they have guns they're pretty aggressive.

BTW if your nick is from the game Perfect Dark then you have a GREAT "taste" for FPS games and thanks to that i really trust your impressions about the game.

So the game is kinda hard at that point you say? I want difficult FPS games with good level design GOD DA***T XDDDD

Yes, it's from Perfect Dark :)
The difficulty is ....well....inconsistent. Stealth missions are easy, very easy. But the shooting can be pretty tough. It really depends on the difficulty level.

Are you planning just to shoot your gun and stare at the casings on the ground all day?

yeah, it's gun porn, the genre, this is what you look for. i remember Bungie's Marathon series had shell casings you saw eject, and dispensed on the ground and heard them hit, it was pretty mindblowing at the time, and still is part of the fun, as ridiculous as it may seem.

shit i remember modding the ammo so you had 400 round clips, to see if the ground would show each bullet shell on the ground, sadly once then shells got to a certain number theyd disappear. and dont get me started on staring at bullet holes in walls just for fun

So in "I am Death incarnate!" this would be hard as shit if we play like another normal FPS game.

Looks like this game is 180º from stealth games, in deus ex HR or Dishonored for example the shooting mechanics makes those games pretty easy, and in this game is completely the opposite

WTF man! XD

So, in general, is a great game then? is not another Haze or Duke Nukem Forever? Hope the reviews confirm this good impressions.

For those asking about deals, preorder it at Best Buy if you're a gamers club member to get 20 dollars back in credit and a 5 dollar eGift Card since they ran out of the original preorder bonus.

Sounds like Metro Last Light to me. The stealth in that game was practically broken, but I thought it was fun. The shooting made up for it.

Move to PC? Because I don't like the PS4 triggers in shooting games. Would prefer to get the game on PS4, but not dealing with the triggers. Rather use the shoulder buttons. If that's not an option, then I'll get it on PC. Either way I'm getting the game.

I meant use the triggers. You're the first person I've heard who doesn't like those amazing triggers. No game is probably ever going to give you that option.

Duke Nukem Forever was...well.. i liked it but only on my first playthrough. It was a bad game though. Wolfenstein is great if you like old school shooters (with stealth and/ or adventure parts). I don't remember Haze, lol.

too right. it's wolfenstein not thief. i remember the crappy stealth level in rtcw and it was so awful.

Well, a lot of these guys also worked on the Riddick games, so I'm guessing the stealth will be pretty good.

This game doesn't really need it, though. Just gimme some big guns and a bunch of Nazis to kill.

If its like Metro LL I will be very happy, super happy in fact.

Yeah, for me the stealth in MM LL were my favorite segments. I didn't really like the parts where you couldn't stealth honestly.

And, I'll be the odd one out and say I hope you can stealth through most the game in Wolfenstein. Course, the big reason I got interested in Wolfenstein was them advertising the stealth. I'm (usually) not as big on run and gun FPS but I like ones that give me a way to use stealth (and cover).

What is happening? Just let me shoot things...why, machine games...why???
the first chapters were awesome. Now I'm running through lifeless levels while I'm doing fetch quests (repair things, steal something). Give me weapons, I want to kill Nazis in my Wolfenstein game.

Heart dropping. This is what ruined Killzone.

Yeah, Riddick was a great stealth, hand to hand combat and shooting ego adventure mix. I expect Wolfenstein to be the same but with the focus on shooting (Riddick was more stealth/hand to hand combat).

Aside from the Ghosts multiplayer demo this'll be my first shooter on the PS4 (and the first single player fps I've played for a while, in retrospect), so I'm really hoping it's as good as those awesome trailers seem. Some of these impressions here are definitely making me feel a bit nervous that I just dropped 45 squid on a preorder for the Occupied Edition last night :/

Edit: I wish the review embargo doesn't have to lift on release day. I don't like that :(
