How important is the Day 1 patch? Should I wait until it's done downloading to start playing or does it not matter?

Unfortunately not. I thought so, too but apparently the ReleaseStateOverride-flag prevents it. http://steamdb.info/app/201810/
The releasestate of the game is preloadonly and 'released' is only as an override.
Even if you activate it with a VPN the game stays as not released on your account since ReleaseStateOverrideCountries lists all countries except AT/CH/DE. So you need a VPN for activation and playing the game.
At least that's what I found in the steam forums.

Oh, yeah, I mentioned that myself earlier in the thread. I thought you were speaking in general. The ROW version has unlocked everywhere now so what the person should have done is changed the general release state rather than adding Asian countries to the override list.

Hit right on the d pad. If you have two pistols equipped, right on the d pad for the right gun, left on the d pad for the left gun.

I'm not liking any "military" shooter recently, but since this one has more exploration, I might be interested when the price drops. One question, though: do you guys prefer to do the first playthrough using stealth or shooting everything?

Probably not; the "German Edition" and uncensored version are technically two different games. You could try downloading the uncensored version and replace the game's data files.

Bought retail PC and the first three disks installed no problem all fast like. Now I'm half way through the fourth and final disk and it's taking forever. Any suggestions to speed it along? I don't want to cancel if it means I have to start all over again.

death incarnate is comparable to normal difficulties in cod campaigns

I was able to play south park uncut too.
with all the hitler speaches and so on.

Replacing the data is the only possible solution. Since they're technically two different games, the German Edition doesn't include the uncensored data as, say, South Park does -- the depots (file collections, basically) each version uses are completely different, save for the redists.

So, I put my disc in and it installed (XOne) and didn't find a patch. Isn't currently downloading a patch. Can I force this somehow?

Seeing the same here - even starting a New Game, there's no prompt for an Update.

Also, any word yet on the differences between PS4 and XOne? I'd rather play it on Xbox One for the triggers, but I'll take the PS4 version if it's visually superior in some way.

I dont quite understand why the Austrian version is cut too. Here it is only prohibited to "reactivate" National Socialism and open propaganda in that direction. Hitler Movies or Documentations and the likes are not cut either so why a game?

From what I've seen it's pretty similar, although you can downsample or alter the .ini to activate MSAA on PC.

Yes, Death Incarnate is rather easy so far (75% through). There was one level that was hard.
