Following his expected cameo in Bryan Singer's highly anticipated X-Men: Apocalypse, long-time franchise star Hugh Jackman will be seen next for the presumably final time in his third solo Wolverine outing, which, according to producer Simon Kinberg, has already started filming. Kinberg doesn't divulge too much, but does promise we'll be seeing Wolverine like we've never seen him before: “It’s a very radical, bold, different Wolverine than you’ve ever seen in any of these movies.”

Speaking with Kinberg at the X-Men: Apocalypse press junket in London, Collider, while unable to gain confirmation on Patrick Stewart's involvement, did manage to confirm a few early rumors that claimed the film would be rated-R and set in the future, which judging by the rough description of the film's tone, should make for a perfect fit: “I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that. I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.”

"Futuristic western" sounds like Old Man Logan, but who knows. I liked The Wolverine, so I'm down either way.

How in the fuck are they going to even attempt adapting Old Man Logan?

Just swapping in shitty X-villains for Doom, Red Skull, and Banner's clan isn't going to work.

Hype

Do it right fam

The same way they've done it for every X-Men movie. Loosely based on comic storylines, switching out/combining characters as needed

Generally I don't mind it as long as it's not like Origins where they change elements of the Weapon X project for no reason....he keeps his memories! gunshot tho :'(

How many adapted arcs actually stick to the source material beyond the broad thematic core? Winter Solider, Days of Future Past, First Class, Civil War...

I mean Winter Soldier wasn't worse off for not having a Cosmic Cube give Bucky his memories back...

Wonder if they'll introduce X-23 in the movie as rumored. Would be one way to keep "Wolverine" in the universe without having to immediately replace Jackman.

Same way Civil War was adapted. Take the basic concept of an older tortured Wolverine traveling a future US controlled by various factions, chuck out everything else

So who's taking bets that Deadpool will appear?

It'll be weird, cause Wolverine still doesn't say "fuck" in the comics. They can do all the violence and gore now though

Comics: "Carve out your opponents' intestines with razorsharp metal claws 'til they choke in a pool of their gastrointestinal fluids, but don't say the f-word or maybe we'll lose the kids"

I mean technically they have Doom.

FF is dead, they might as well throw him in the X-Men stuff.

Or have Wolverine's body get almost totally blown up, and at the end of the movie he starts to regenerate... then the next movie he shows up as a different actor, just go "oh yeah, guess my body was so fucked up that I didn't heal exactly right so now I look like a different dude." Lol

Eh, this can't be Jackson's last Wolverine outing because he needs to do a Wolverine x Deadpool movie.

If those two have half as much chemistry on-screen as they do in reality, it'll be a riot. Don't even give the film a plot, just have Deadpool follow Wolverine around for the day and see how many limbs be has left by the end.

Well it's less of a story issue and more of giving the character of Logan a grace period so the next actor that plays him isn't immediately hated for not being Jackman. Give the character some time away from the screen.

That's not how DNA works haha. He'd look like a deformed Jackman

Hulk and Red Skull are pretty important characters though. Not putting them in is like not putting Iron Man in Civil War.

Again, like More_Badass said, you adapt the overall concept and not the 1:1. You can tell another, compelling story with an Old Man Logan that doesn't require the comic book narrative.

Civil War didn't have mutants and a ton of other characters that were in the books but they took the premise and wrote a smart movie.

R-rated Wolverine should've happened a long time ago, really. Can't wait to see him properly fuck up some people.

If that ends up being the title the progression of titles for this series might top Rambo for being nonsensical.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
The Wolverine
Wolverine

If I had to more closely adapt the comic book story, maybe have Sinister as the new Nazi leader, and have Blob or Juggernaut stand in for Hulk

Reintroduce Sabretooth

Maybe a soft-reboot of FF too, throw In relatively proper Doom?

Yeah, something along these lines. Basically, Fox has a huge stable of characters and they just need to craft an original Old Man Logan story that leverages the properties they can use.

jon bones

hot hot hanuman-on-man action
The Wolverine sits alongside Deadpool as the best X-Movie... have high hopes for this one!

Old Man Logan, here we gooo

Ugh is this gonna be like wolverine in japan? That was such a bore

i found that more compelling than the Mystique & friends movies
