I still think its pretty possible we're getting something closer to Death of Wolverine than Old Man Logan.

Whatever it is probably won't really resemble either of them, but given how Apocalypse ends, it seems a little more likely to me.

I'd hope the only aspect they'd take from Death of wolverine would be, well, wolverine dying. The rest was pretty terrible.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
I don't know how you do Old Man Logan without all the connections to the rest of the Marvel Universe. I'm one of those people that is fine with Fox having X-Men because it has more enough characters and content to be its own thing apart from the shared Marvel film universe...but a story like Old Man Logan needs connections that the viewer is familiar with and matter. The current Fox X-Men have hit the reset button so we aren't there yet with them.

I'm probably more excited about this than a lot of other upcoming comic films. Not because I'm a big Wolverine fan or the R rating but I really enjoyed what they did with The Wolverine on a tight budget. Take out the stupid bullshit with Silver Samurai and it's a great superhero flick.

Was the one in Japan fun? I'm not much a superhero guy, but the idea of Wolverine fighting ninjas in Japan sounds entertaining.
Never gave it a shot though, because the previous movie was so boring, and most references were lost on me anyway.

I wouldn't say it's an amazing movie but I'll say that it's worth the watch. If by 'previous movie' you mean Origins:Wolverine, it's way better than that.

There are only three Xmen movies I like well enough to own and they are First Class, DOFP (Extended) and The Wolverine (Extended).

The structure is probably more manageable than the "Unforgiven" ripoff that was Old Man Logan.

Either way, whatever this is, it's not gonna be very much like either source.

All I know is, whatever happens in this movie, all I really want to see is Hugh Jackman finally putting on that classic yellow Wolverine outfit.

JUST PUT THE FUCKING THING ON, JACKMAN! I DON'T GIVE A DAMN HOW SILLY IT LOOKS!

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
I am going to miss Jackman in this role whenever he actually stops being Logan. He's been in the role since I was in high school. That weirds me out.

lol I was in middle school when X-1 launched. If that makes you feel any older.

Also the Wolverine was a good film, I don't give a damn what you say.

He'll put it on, right before the credits roll.

The Wolverine would have been so much better had Aronosfky never left the project. Instead we got the dude who made Kate and Leopold.

DA doing a studio movie with zero creative control and 1000% of the blame. Nah that ain't never happening. It's too bad that R rated superhero movies are cool now because that's his wheelhouse.

More like rips it off at the start of the movie

I know this may sound a bit too forced, but I would like to see a cameo from DeadPool in this movie. Just to make up for his appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Wolverine: "Wasn't your mouth shut a long time ago?"

Deadpool: "Weren't you in a good movie a long time ago?"

It doesn't matter that they don't have the necessary characters to adapt Old Man Logan. They can't make good X-Men movies with the characters they do have.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?

Its too late for Jackman. I think the next Wolvie will do it though.

That'll probably be the end of this movie.

He dies while stopping some terrible threat and saving her simultaneously.
She literally does the one thing he wouldn't - puts on the costume. Even going so far as to pull it out of his case, maybe.
She is now "The Wolverine."

I know nothing about the comics and only about the movies, but I hope whatever happens, if he does die, he goes out in a massive killing spree. I want hundreds dead before he goes down. Fuck it would be so awesome seeing him explode.

How's Justice League coming along, Mr Snyder?

I feel like I've heard this story before.

Wolverine gets caught as he is trying to escape with a badly wounded protege/partial-clone. Hundreds of heavily-armed soldiers begin to unload on him as he takes as many as he can with him. His protege, psychologically damaged, begins to think that (s)he is wolverine. We get another story staring that psychologically damaged, pseudo-clone which is partially about trying to save the world and partially about trying to re-establish the its identity.

So, what I know as of about 6+ months ago,
it was sort of a take on Old Man Logan with Logan refusing to pop the claws after he had massacred the X-Men in Xavier's school while under the influence of some poisonous mind altering drug. Then he somehow (don't really remember how) gets entangled into delivering X-23 to Xavier, his healing factor dilutes along the way and we finally have a good scene or two with berserker rage Wolverine where he destroys everything and everyone in a gory blaze of glory. The movie segues into Hugh's departure and the introduction of X-23 as the new Wolverine in the FOX Marvel universe.

Keep in mind, this is all stuff I had heard back from when I had friends in the know with the goings on within FOX's Marvel sector so I could have misremembered stuff, I don't have tangible proof and those friends don't have the same positions they once did, meaning this could have all been rewritten and we wouldn't have a clue. Basically, trust me, or don't, this is the best I've got, lol.

I think.
I mean the one where they fight on the nuclear reactor.

Hopefully that's true. Sounds like a better film than the last few X-Men ones.

That's pretty much what I've been expecting the movie to be, tbh.

Though I was assuming that Charles would be the one to replace Hawkeye as Logan's comrade/travel buddy. Granted, it does make a lot more sense if X-23 is the one traveling with Logan, since that gives the film more time to develop her relationship with Logan and better set up X-23 as the new Wolverine.
