For everyone responding with FF, wasn't there speculation that the way the characters are licensed, they can't cross over with X-Men, and vice versa? Which is one of (probably many) reasons 2015 FF didn't exist in X-Men's world.

If they're doing some version of Old Man Logan, they shouldn't call it that. They also definitely should not have Fantastic Four characters in it, because it would make no sense and feel like pointless unearned fanservice. What they should do is have a post-apocalyptic Wolverine movie that feels like a samurai western, with tons of X-men references, showing Wolverine losing his mind in history and regret. Call it... Wolverine: The Wasteland.

Hope it's a good note to go out on. I liked The Wolverine quite a bit- really shows just how great Jackman is and how much he is the Wolverine.

I thought they were pretty adamantly pushing Fantastic Four to crossover with Xmen in the coming years - I'm pretty sure there's quotes out in the wild saying as much, and that it would be very easy to bring the two world's together. That all went out the window the day it actually released though.

Edit - here's a quote by Bryan Singer:

Those ideas are in play… That would be a natural match-up because they’re both ensemble films and there is a natural mechanism by which to do it… It deals with time. That’s all I’m going to say.”

I don't think the title "Old Man Logan" would resonate in a positive way with non-comic fans. I agree it needs a title change if this is the story they're going with.

How in the fuck are they going to even attempt adapting Old Man Logan?

Just swapping in shitty X-villains for Doom, Red Skull, and Banner's clan isn't going to work.

Probably just going to shift the story around until it looks like a jigsaw puzzle put together by cramming the pieces in wherever you want, whether they fit or not, just like every other X-Men film has adapted the comic stories.

I know Jackman has been in a lot of xmen movies and I should be tired of him but dude is so iconic in the role, I'm gonna miss him as logan.

We just saw a Civil War adaption facing the same hurdles. Whatever changes they make to the story, I hope it includes Logan's backstory. It's silly in the book.

If they're going to do some variation of Old Man Logan, why don't they wait until Hugh Jackman is actually, you know...old? They'd be able to shoot this film just fine in 2030!

You've got Prime Jackman right there, you fools! Shoot something while he's young!

Please be a gritty future western version of "Old Man Logan"... and not one filtered through the Hollywood garbage idea machine Wolverine movies usually get put through.

I'm both excited to get R rated movies, but worried this is going to be Fox Execs making everything super extreme over the top in an attempt to bottle what made Deadpool so good without understanding what actually made deadpool so good.

I am going to miss Jackman in this role whenever he actually stops being Logan. He's been in the role since I was in high school. That weirds me out.

I would really, really like for Fox to find a way to get him to the MCU before he hangs it up, but that sadly isn't in the cards.

I hope, and emphasize on hope, that they just told the writers and director that they could go R, and then left. Just deliver the message and leave.

I'm fine with this as long as it's not rated R for the sake of it.

Wolverine isn't exactly a humourous character, so I'm sure the R Rating will be skewed to all of the violence that will be happening.

Was the one in Japan fun? I'm not much a superhero guy, but the idea of Wolverine fighting ninjas in Japan sounds entertaining.
Never gave it a shot though, because the previous movie was so boring, and most references were lost on me anyway.

It was okish, not great. Sadly it's one of those "hero loses his powers" stories which are always lame.

The first two acts are probably the best xmen movie. Its worth seeing.

Followed by Wolverine: Wizard and Glass

I can't remember much about it but I remember liking it.

It was refreshing, because it was one of those rare superhero movies where the fate of the world is not at stake for once. It's all centered around Wolverine.

The Wolverine would have been so much better had Aronosfky never left the project. Instead we got the dude who made Kate and Leopold.
