Basically every day this woman would drive up on the sidewalk and around this stopped school bus. The bus driver finally had enough and contacted the police who agreed to sit and wait for this to happen.

The motorist plead not guilty.

The driver’s mother defended her daughter’s driving saying she was in a hurry and East 38th Street was her fastest route.

The best part...they're (the driver and her mother) complaining that it's taking them too long to load/unload the bus, but they're loading and unloading handicapped children.

This is at a daycare...that was extremely dangerous.

I can't get the video to load, but how old must this woman be for her mother to be speaking on her behalf?

At some point one learns to either leave earlier or take a different route.

Notice that sidewalk shenanigans are not part of the learning experience. The hell.

What's wrong with doing this? nothing.

It's not like she was speeding.

1) Traffic violation to pass a school bus when its stopped with its lights on and STOP SIGN out.

2) Driving on sidewalks is a safety hazard

EDIT: rofl the building with the sidewalk is a day care.

3) Fuck her

You are the worst. Usually when a school bus is stopped children are either walking away from it, or to it. Its incredibly dangerous and fucking idiotic.

Edit: I fell for it!

I just don't understand the whole sidewalk thing. If you want to break the law and blow through a bus sign, why not just stay on the road? Does driving on the sidewalk make it legal somehow, or less conspicuous?

Anyways. Dumb bitch.

The 'not guilty' plea is what blows my mind. Way to take responsibility for your actions.

I've seen someone drive on the pavement to avoid the traffic queue at a junction. I so badly wish there'd been a police car nearby because it was near a school.

She was going opposite of the bus. The door for the bus is on the right hand side of the bus. The kids are in no danger since they're on the other side of traffic.

If she was behind the bus and getting on the side walk...then yea...that's dumb because the kids are on the side walk.

Dangerous? she wasn't speeding!!!

How can you plead not guilty when there it's on tape and how can you use "I'm in a hurry" as a defense for breaking the law? Idiots.

Reminds me of people who drive on the shoulder to avoid a congested exit ramp. Always funny when there's a cop sitting on the shoulder and they can't see. You are more important than anyone else waiting to get to the same place! It's okay!

So how much was your ticket?

Both sides of the street are supposed to stop when there's no median.

because speeding is the only way to be dangerous in a car, right.

Sometimes kids cross the street to get on the bus....

From Wikipedia

Generally, if a stopped school bus is displaying a flashing, alternating red lamp, a driver of a vehicle meeting or overtaking the stopped bus from either direction (front or back) must stop and wait until the bus moves again or the red light is off.[1] Police officers, school crossing guards, and even school bus drivers themselves may have the power to wave traffic on, even when a red light is flashing.

or

Many jurisdictions require all surrounding vehicles to stop when a school bus is stopped with its red lights flashing.
