Consulting the Wordle history and coming back with "yup that's already been a Wordle" 5 times in a row is starting to drive me nuts. I'm very close to turning off hard mode and unleashing my:
GUNKY
FACED
PLIMS
WORTH
strat that was forged in the fires of OCTORDLE.

99 times out of 100 it'll set you up for a Wordle in Five. The other 1 out of 100 you're getting that Wordle in Six guaranteed. And if you somehow don't, you'd just leave the thread in shame and never show your pathetic face again. This sounds very appealing.

Could have gotten it easily enough in 5 with GUNKYFACEDPLIMSWORTH but nooo I had to stare at Wordle for 10 minutes.

One problem with that tactic is that plims is a Tracy word if I ever heard one.

Re: 'PLIMS', I do not believe we've ever had a 4-letter verb with an 'S' added as a solution, so I think we're safe there. Ditto on an 'ED'-ending verb ('FACED'). The two words we could still have, I believe, are 'GUNKY' and 'WORTH' (surprised that hasn't been one yet).

Well sheesh that makes me think I'd have to run WORTH as the opener to eventually get that Wordle in One. But then it just doesn't roll off the tongue like GUNKYFACEDPLIMSWORTH. In my Octordle days I also agonized over whether to use WORTH or WROTH. I guess you could also GUNKY->BINKY and PLIMS->PLUMS (or SLUMP if you like--already been a Wordle) if you like B more than G, but what kind of a crazy person would even think that?

GUNKYFACEDPLIMSWORTH knocks out 20 letters and leaves you with BJQVXZ. The absolute pinnacle of Wordle cheese technology if I do say so myself, which I won't, since I'm humble.
