I feel like I have a better handle on Skittish now. Maybe I just do that much more damage, because I don't lose aggro as much. Also the one pulling aggro is our Paladin now and not our cat so he dies less.

Bolstering still sucks though. Not being able to chain pull (and accidental pulls causing wipes) is the biggest problem and it's shared by this and Necrotic. Teeming also has that unreasonably large increase in the required mob kill percentage, when just the extra mobs are enough of a problem on their own. I really hope they're planning to look into rebalancing those affixes in particular.

Tyrannical just causes certain boss fights to be completely broken/impossible for their intended gear level and needs some looking into as well.

Skittish is awful as a Warrior since we just do a shit ton of threat and then have no way to drop it. I kept getting aggro, even after waiting a while to pop CDs, while the Spriest and Rogue never had to deal with it.

yeah after tanking a few we brought in a guild bear tank and I went Frost for a couple mythic+ runs. Skittish really sucks as a DPS. A few pulls in I dropped Sindragosa and just saw every single mob aggro me. I've made a huge mistake.gif

Excessively. I wonder if those that only exploited a little will be left with the AP.

Think Ion said people that did it a "few" times were fine. It was the excessive ones that are getting punished. My guess is under 5 maybe?

His analogy was find a dollar on the ground, lucky you. Find another, ok. Keep going and find a bag of money, now maybe you crossed a line. Find a pallet of money, call up your friends to hall it away. You can explain that to the cops.

I agree with pretty much all of this, would be nice for them to look into the balance of some of these a bit. Also, necrotic has the added annoyance of the tank having to kite all the time, which costs some DPS as well. Honestly, every affix has weird totally broken combos that are awful, but some are just mildly annoying while others are run breaking. Like Raging/Fortified pelter can certainly destroy some DPS, but that has workarounds, vs Tyrannical last boss CoS +15 which may be mathematically impossible.

I'd also love it if they would balance some aspect of the reward vs time invested as well. Same AP and 2 pieces of gear from a 14 minute Maw vs a 27 minute HoV/Arcway is kind of annoying, the zones that are literally double in length should at the very least award more AP, if not an extra piece of loot or two. There will always be a "best" place to run, but they can at least bring them a bit closer together.

Huh? Doesn't he just have it because if you have a hidden appearance for one spec and unlock the other colors it unlocks those colors for your other specs? Or do you mean the prot one logging in and out back when nobody knew how it worked just that a certain text string would flag true if you did that? (as it would also do if you changed zones or did other things, logging was just a faster way to try it)

Anyway, it really isn't that hard to understand the difference between an "exploit" for cosmetic rewards vs an exploit that provides a game advantage, its a bit silly to compare the two.

The logging in and out thing for the prot artifact is the exact same method as the artifact power exploit. Why would anyone think logging on and off would be the way Blizzard intended you to achieve the item? You could cover yours eyes and ears just as much and say Blizzard intended you to 'grind out this artifact power mission' even though you know its not true. You know you're taking advantage of something.

How much of WoW's playerbase is driven by cosmetic awards? I bet a lot more than just the 'accomplishment' of it. Outside of the highest end players, most people play to get that gear to show off, to get that mount to show off, to get that title to show off. People gquit over not getting mounts.

Method, yes. But Blizz doesn't really care unless you are exploiting for power or to disadvantage/harm other players.

The key you're missing is level of impact. In one case, you are logging in and out to finally win a dice roll giving you a cosmetic reward that has no power to it and does not affect other players (or their chances to get this cosmetic reward) in any way. In the other case, you are logging in and out also, but this time to specifically gain a combat and in-game advantage over other players, knowingly so. If you don't see why those two should be treated differently, and how someone can be fine with the former and not fine with the latter without being a hypocrite, I don't know what to say.

But AK only affects PVE and in PVP the traits are disabled by this time everyone got nearly 90% of their chosen Artifact

Huh? Traits are certainly not disabled in PvP, but yea, most people have most things unlocked. But regardless, someone doing this on, say, their PvP alt that didn't have much unlocked certainly got a huge PvP advantage from it over someone who didn't. Power advantage exploits should always be treated harshly.

Ok so I finally bought Legion and a month of game time.

I haven't played since Cataclysm and so when I logged in (I was a little drunk) I was totally overwhelmed. I got to Pandaria and did a couple of quests but yeah, lots of changes.

I did a quick refresh of the story so far on their official site, I think I know enough to be going on with. But what do you guys recommend to an old school player who hasn't played for like 6 years? I just kinda grabbed all my hunter spells and chucked them on the action bar. And my pets are probably shit.

Should I just level through the story and worry about everything else when I reach the cap? Should I just skip all the dungeons from Cataclysm/MoP/WoD?

Smoke em.

"Excessively" probably means people who got a few hundred thousand are safe, considering the people who got million(s).

Level through the story and don't worry about anything until cap. You can do the dungeons, but be warned that you'll probably outlevel the zone if you do

My monk is 25% into 99 and I have no treasures left.

I am also wearing cloth heirloom gear and my weapons are timeless isle welfare epics.

I maybe should have planned better.

if you want a lore recap, I recommend watching Nobbel on YT because you will outlvl the zones really fast even just questing. Also pets don't have specific roles anymore, just specific abilities, so a wolf can be Ferocity, Cunning, and Tenacity all the old pet specific roles from the past.

you can enter legion at lvl 98 btw.

man helya is just fucking hard, hats off to method

i dont see us downing this for another 100 or so attempts

out of curiosity, how tight is the check on guarm?

DT stream it looked manageable, and a friend of mine in DNO said it wasn't that bad. Wondering if AL 35 is mandatory

35 traits is def not mandatory, check isnt bad, about 420-30 per which cna be made up with healer dps and shadow priests etc.

4m enrage, basically this is a major fight for healers and how good they are at dealing with holding onto their gcds for dispels.

Living to see the enrage is the real challenge on the boss.

we 1 tanked it from the get go, but i know some ppl used double war tanks for spell reflect damage via soaking their own cone (1 tanking is prob just better)

Used the boost on a Monk I leveled to 60. 101 now and it has been really fun as WW.

Also ran Heroic EN with a pug on my rdruid and got two 880 and two 870 pieces. My ilvl is now 874. With few more items without my main stats I'm at 876.

Welcome to the monk club, my friend!

Easily my second favorite class (I will always be an arcane mage at heart). I loved it in MoP, felt a bit clunky in WoD, but I think we're at our best now in Legion.

Man playing a resto sham has ruined me on playing other healers in Mythic+. As the healer, having a 12 sec ranged interrupt, an AoE stun, ghetto Stampede, between 2-5 healing CDs based on spec, and adding a Lust to the group just makes other healers I try feel a bit lacking. And with a certain spec you can cast while moving 15 sec of every minute, so while my druid has better movement options sham is no slouch.

Only thing that sucks about resto shaman is DPSing on one sucks horribly, solo is boring and slow and in dungeons, AoE is super limited. Comparatively, MW monk DPS is actually almost interesting, Hpal works really well, disc is obviously solid, and druid has affinities for DPS. But that's a minor complaint on a healer.

Damn that DPS check seems high. I don't see us getting anywhere near that soon. FFS my best on heroic Ursoc (probably the closest in similarity) is 386k (Havoc DH, was the #1 parse on the server for about a week) and that was only a 2:14 fight length. Then again, I only have like one piece of actual Mythic EN gear and don't have the insane single target DPS legendary ring, so there's that...

How are Affliction warlocks in the current build/PTR?

Was my favorite class/spec in vanilla, wish it made a comeback.

Man I wanted to maybe level one of my DKs, but Frost Nouveau is just so seemingly different from what it used to be, whereas Unholy is basically same shit since pre-patch /beta that I'm used to playing.

So not sure if like. Maybe I will do the warrior instead like I had originally planned.

sooo, looks like the catchup AK mechanic will go to lvl 15 in AK for 500 per note....thats actually insane...you could switch alts pretty comfortably at that lvl.
