World of Warcraft |OT9| People still play this? Isn't it from 2004

it's happening like 20% of the time when i use the dungeon finder, most of the time i'm on the ground so it shows green checks for everyone and just sits there until i leave the group and requeue

I have a DH and a Rogue available, what should I gear up for high M+? I'm guessing Assassination - Outlaw too inconsistent, Sub low AOE, Havoc low ST.

Sound right?

anyone have an issue with the dungeon finder just failing to transport you into the instance? it happens to me all the time, even threw me off a gryphon and killed me.

Were you near Mt Hyjal? Hyjal is notorious for changing instances and demounting you. I can't tell you how many times I've been killed by that.

heres a bizarre and specific question / problem. Im using elvUI and when I go in those pots in suramar to hide, I cant get out, theres no button to exit. I just went in the elvUI mode where you can move shit around and cant find anything that would be a "exit vehicle or whatever" button. Anyone knows how to fix that?

It's in the bottom left-hand corner of the minimap.

Just a heads up since I saw some surprise about this elsewhere, you will need to have completed all of the Nightfallen's story that's been released so far in order to do the new questlines in Suramar tomorrow.

In other words, you're going to need to get Good Suramaritan, pretty much.
That's a pisstake. I was thinking about rerolling to join a friend on another server but I'll lose all the progress on Suramar I made if I do. Ain't doing that shitty grind again. This pushes me closer to just unsubbing.

When Nighthold opens people can upgrade their legendaries. Nice, Blizzard. Let's widen that gap, shall we?

At least there's a ton of QOL improvements to get excited about:
- Auction House UI
- LFG Mythic+ UI
- Flight Path UI

And I'd by lying if I said the Diablo anniversary items don't put a stupid grin on my face.

https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/20335228/patch-notes-world-of-warcraft-7-1-return-to-karazhan

Survivals getting a huge buff
Frost Mage getting buffs 8D

HOLY SHIT

WARLOCKS
Demon Skin and Demonic Circle have swapped talent locations.
Fucking what. That means you can't take Dark Pact, and tier 3 is completely useless for locks.

Demonology destroyed
Demonic Empowerment now increases health by 20% (was 50%).
Thal’kiel’s consumption deals damage equal to 8% of pet health (from 6%)
.

Very much destroyed.

New raid tiers have always allowed the raiders to "widen the gap" to non raiders? not sure what the issue with legendaries being upgradeable is

Make sure you get http://ptr.wowhead.com/item=9372/sulthraze-the-lasher#comments before the patch is live. It's being removed for some reason and it'll give a Feat of Strength.

Thanks for the heads up. The only character of mine high enough level that could equip the two-handed sword on my main server is an old level 65 DK so I found a way to get him over to Tanaris. Took one kill of the Chief and two of the fellow in the cave to get the drops needed. It was tougher figuring out how to get to Tanaris on him than doing the dungeon since I first planned to sail from SW to Darnassus and then fly down but the boat out of SW just got stuck in the water and after a few minutes started the rotation back to the dock again. Instead I flew to Stranglethorn to go over to Ratchet from there.

There were likely quicker ways but it's amusing how much I forget about stuff like that when I'm so used to shortcuts (portal to Cavern of Time or portal to Uldum).

Widen what gap? Nighthold loot is higher level than EN, and the maximum war/titanforged proc level will also be increased. Legendaries would be useless if they didn't add a way to upgrade them.

How...did you get raider vs non-raider from my post?

So here's my take (and you're welcome to disagree): those who got lucky and got their optimal legendaries have a huge advantage already. Making the legendaries upgradable means that not only do they keep the advantage the legendary's ability brings over any other gear/lesser legendaries, but they now don't have to worry about gearing for that slot ever again until the next expansion.

Tldr; Massively powerful passive abilities on gear that grows in ilvl with content updates that you can only get from blind luck doesn't sit well me. I bitch about legendaries all the time though.

you bitch about everything all the time :3

come on, it was right there!

I wish that instead of getting an actual legendary item you would get an item that starts a nice quest chain, obviously not one that is time gated or any bullshit of that sort, that would allow you to forge a legendary item of your choice.

If legendaries didn't have such a massive effect on DPS the current system wouldn't be so bad, but as it stands some are extremely strong and some feel useless.

I wouldn't have a problem if they allowed you to forge your first legendary to whatever you'd like and any legendary after that first one was a random drop from the remaining ones.

After playing since launch on Dad Time I was finally able to get my hunter up to 100 this week (had already capped my rogue, but prefer ranged). What's my best foot forward to get the dude ready for Kara? I assume crafted gear is my first step to get geared a bit faster?

If you have a guild that actively runs mythic+, by far the fastest way to gear up is to offer your low level keystone for a carry group. Our usual process for alts or friends is to take 4 of our usual 5 man mythic+ team and one low ilevel character. We run Violet Hold for them to get their keystone and give them all the loot that drops. A level 2 keystone is an easy 3-chest, and since the other 4 people rarely need anything that's even more loot for that character. We usually even run them through the level 5 stone they get afterwards too, and then next week in their mythic chest they get a mythic 5 +15 item level piece of gear. We've gotten completely dead weight fresh 110s to 840 in no time by doing this.

The funny thing is how often we ask guildies for their low level keys and how rarely they come forward, I've even had to hunt through my list of vanilla friends and college buddies to find people to help out.

World quests, world bosses, dungeons.

Crafted gear starts at 815, and you need 845ish (?) for Kara. There's a material you can buy to upgrade crafted gear at +5 level a piece of gear. Costs about 2k on my server.

With this new Blood of Sargeras trader I am about to become entirely self-sufficient for raiding materials. I can finally go back to actually making money, instead of hemorrhaging it!

WoD garrison continue to make money. Got Void-shrouded Satchel from a mission and sold it for 15k. Was going to ask 2k for it since I didn't really know what they went for, but asked the buyer to make an offer and he offered 15k.

Oh shit. Is it really worth running garrisons again? I haven't even thought about going back to it for anything since Legion launched.

I'm totally curious - how many GAFers play US Alliance? Would love to see and add anyone

Yeah!

The talent swap is total fucking garbage and is just a total nerf to the class all around, but the Thal'kiels Consumption chage is actually a small damage buff.

Huge thanks for this! My guild went from progression raiding to casual raiding + mythics this expac, so I'm sure I can get a crew. Thanks again.

Fancied re-subbing for Karazhan but in the end I just YouTube'd it.

Crafted gear is a scam, don't bother with it. When you hit 110 just finish off your Class Hall campaign for some gear and the 3rd relic slot (helps your ilvl) and do World Quests. When you hit 825 do some LFR, it's a bit wank but who knows a drop might upgrade or even a Legendary can be yours. My guy was 854 when I left him and he didn't even step into a Mythic dungeon, so you should be able to get to 845 without serious trouble.

WoD garrison continue to make money. Got Void-shrouded Satchel from a mission and sold it for 15k. Was going to ask 2k for it since I didn't really know what they went for, but asked the buyer to make an offer and he offered 15k.

Sounds like the exception to the rule. Still use mine for bank/transmog/Pally bubble hearth, though.

You make a post about how legendaries can be upgraded when the new raid comes out, and how that will widen the gap. What else could you possibly be talking about? You have to raid to upgrade legendaries.

I bought a satchel for 30 copper before Legion launched. Can they have something else than the heirloom trinket in them or what's up?

Caps at 10 per week. 8 week grind.

I need to get a new guild. Mine just up and server transferred and faction changed. Cant stand pugging anymore. People are batshit in pug groups. I dc'd in LFR last night and as I was logging back in I was just verbally assaulted (I am a tool and an asshole apparently for having internet problems last night) and before I could even respond was kicked from the group. Apparently from what I could parse from the insults and shit thrown my way when I logged back in was that I bugged Il'gynoth with my DC during the heart phase and caused the encounter to reset which sucks but holy shit people need to chill.

I got harassment from a freaking world quest the other day. There was a non-elite, blue Wardens WQ with some random Satyr as a target. There were a shitload of people in the area so it had a lot of health. I was apparently the only tank so I obviously had aggro when he started evade bugging (I didn't move an inch from his spawn point). He kept bouncing back to his original spot when death gripped and it took me 3-4 tries to find a spot that he liked enough to stop evading.

In that time I was BOMBARDED with tells and /say shitflinging, people calling me a troll/etc and claiming I was being reported. Because a mob was evading out of my control, wasting about 1-2 minutes of their time. A mob that I was able to fix.

But yeah I understand that pugging everything is apparently the new normal in this game. I just can't do that. The only reason I'm even playing is because running stuff with friends is fun. In WoD I lasted exactly as long as my guild held together and not a day later.

Being able to actually progress in 5 man content while playing with a solid group of people I like is something I wish this game had years ago. I'm not saying I would have never quit at all but I definitely would have stuck around in Cataclysm for example. I stopped playing that expac as soon as the raid came out but I loved its heroic dungeons.

So what's the highest dps class? Warlocks, hunters?

Demo lock is the theoretical highest on single target, low movement fights. As those aren't super common anymore, you aren't likely to see Demo locks topping real-world logs.

I ask because I've always been ranged and playing a melee class now I can't help but feel that just the fact of being melee limits my dps output compared to range that don't have to chase targets.

Is it? On its face, losing 30% from the health buff and only increasing Thals consumption by 2% doesnt sound like alot...

Like...if demons have 500 health, they used to be buffed to 750, 6% of that is 45, but now theyre only buffed up to 600 with 20%, and 8% of that would be 48...oooh.
