Every English EU server is "locked". Does that mean every single one of them has a queue right now? There are some French and German servers that aren't full, so I don't think they've locked all servers manually somehow.

Locked is pretty much full server capacity. Those are the ones with ridiculous queues.

Can't play MCC, can't play WoW. It's my free week before I have to start prepping for exams. =/

This sucks and I don't even feel like playing anything else since I was so excited for this.

Same here. I have a week off. My backup plan was AC Unity. Oh well.

locked is what "Full" used to mean.

"Full" meant that you were facing a queue and often weren't allowed to create a character on there unless you already had one on there.

Now they just changed it to "Locked" which basically means the same thing. Wait in queue to get on, and those without characters already on the realm can't create a new character on the realm.

How are people level 100 in like a days time? Mind boggling.

out guild master is 100. AFAIK he played from launch Thursday morning until he hit 100. I logged at like 9pm last night and he was like 95-96 I think.. So he got the remaining 4 levels over... 8 hours?

Do people not eat, sleep, shower? Even with all the sever issues and ques too. Maybe I'm just the different type of player, but it will probably take me a couple weeks to get 1 100. lol

eh... you can't even really play the "eat, sleep, shower, no life" card.. 90-100 with rest xp can pretty much be done in /played 12-17 hours. that's like a cram session on a day off of work.

I have very little time to play (relatively) and even I'm expecting to be 100 by next week. Probably less than 20 hours /played.

If I played 12-17 hours in one sitting, I wouldn't be level 100.

with full rest xp, plus full understanding of the quest chains from beta? sure you would.. unless you were deliberately taking your time. .i.e. reading text, watching movies, exploring, etc.

Oh I think I'll just pop for a sec and try to exp a bit.......

The queues are real, jfc

Tha'ts nothing, wait until tonight, or tomorrow night.

queues are fairly artificial. it's blizz trying to combat latency and DDOS. once their shit is running and DDOS is blocked they'll raise realm pops and the queues should drop or vanish depending on the ACTUAL size of your realm (i.e. realms that were low pop before will still be low pop.. realms in the US like Bleeding Hollow and such will probably still have somewhat large queues)

Does anyone remember how long it took for Mist of Panderia to drop in price or go on sale? Would love to check out WoD but trying to figure out when might be the best time to buy.

The new raid finder makes raiding infinitely easier. Are you able to find time to queue up for battlegrounds or 5-man dungeons? If the answer is yes, then you can do raid finder as well.

I'm really close to caving, but I'm wondering RF will be enough challenge for me. We will see I suppose, it'll probably be a Christmas gift to myself. I like some challenge in my groups, but probably not enough to create a huge time commitment like how I raided in the past.

Right now I don't feel like I have time to even run 5 mans, so it'll def wait until a bit later on in the season.

I remember getting it for $19.99 on some Black Friday or Christmas sale from Gamestop of all places. Checked it out for a month, then never re-subbed. YMMV, of course, no guarantee that it'll be like that this year.

Same queue here, 200mins to go and it seems to be only going up. I should not have logged out before. Ha, and a month ago I was complaining that my server is so empty. And when I actually get in I bet it's still super laggy. I wasn't expecting a completely smooth launch, I've experienced too many bad ones to know better by now. Still I was hoping I could play anyway! Guess I'll go watch a movie or something tonight instead. :(

My account on battle.net says that I have Mists of Panderia, even though I never bought it. If I get the new expansion, does that mean I can access that content as well?

I think its amusing that people assume everything is going to go smoothly at launch. No matter how much testing(beta/alpha/stress testing/etc) nothing can account for whats going to happen at launch time. It doesn't help that there are groups consistently running DDOS attempts against Blizzards servers along with the stress of launch.

Most of the persons trying to play at launch have played a ton of MMO's before. You have to know by now nothing is certain at launch time. You take the risk if you take off time during launch that the game isn't going to be 100% stable. Its just that simple.

It's obviously frustrating but the maintenance they are doing now will lead to a more stable game for you when it does come up.

Also keep in mind that their server architects are people and have been no doubt working their asses off since the launch to combat all the problems(with less than optimal sleep). They want the game to be fun for you too. They are just fighting tons of problems to get it where it needs to be.

All this considered it has been the worst launch I have seen from a Wow expansion. Still managed to hit 100 yesterday even with the server issues.

The base game now includes all expansions up to and including Mists. If you buy Warlords you can play everything all the way to 100.

Thanks. I'll try looking around those times. I picked up MoP for $10 off of Battle.net during a sale I think near the spring or early summer. I remember seeing the price and just bought it even though I wasn't playing anymore. For that price it was to good to pass up. I might have just been extremely lucky and won't be again. Just less then the full price would be nice.

If these expansions came with some free time I wouldn't mind the price. However buying the expansion and resubscribing at the same time is annoying and expensive for what I'm getting.

I think they gave up to Panda land with the WoD.

Correct. Back in October when the 6.0 pre-patch came out, they included Mists of Pandaria with the base game.

The last expansion that I had trouble like this was BC. Wrath for the most part went smooth and Cata and Panda went through with no hitches for me (and yes, on full high pop servers). It was not laggy, I could do quests no problem, and yes I played the second they were available. I thought they had really worked out all the problems from launching from what I saw the last 2 expansions but apparently not (or they got complacent).

I doubt raid finder will provide a good enough challenge. Especially if you've raided in the past. Genuinely challenging raid content that doesn't require time commitment is about as real as unicorns :P gotta be willing to put some time into it.

That being said, mid-tier raiding (normal and heroic) is somewhat more accessible than before. I was able to see all of Mists heroic content without a raiding guild and my playtime is fairly erratic.

I came to ask the exact same question.

Edit: And... I overlooked the answer. Black Friday it is then.

At first, I was like: fuck... 3000+ queue...

Then I noticed the server was wrong... 4000+ ;__;

FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Thanks GAF for answering all my questions :) haven't played since Wrath so there's been a lot of change but it's nice to be excited over WoW again.

Man so far this expansion has been a blast. The first time meeting the warlords has been great.

The updated models along with the cutscenes really help to sell this encounter with an opposing force especially when you first encounter grom.

What the fuck.

Thousands of people must have blown their 90 boost on every small server and now suddenly everyone feels like they have to use that character or else it was wasted money.

I just gave up on a 3000 queue because the estimated time jumped to 18 hours. Now I know it moves around a lot and is highly inaccurate but it broke my will to wait. Will probably leave it until Monday now as the weekend is surely fucked.

Also guys in my guild said leveling is super fast. Averaging an hour per level once out of the Shadowmoon shitfest
