With all due respect to Coldplay, U2, Green Day, Radiohead and any other
modern rock band you care to mention, NO ONE, I repeat, NO ONE makes
more life-affirming rock'n'roll music than Oasis at their very best.
It's nights like this that make me proud to be an Oasis fan.
Sure, the usual clueless wankers will say it sounds like this and that
track, namely Street Fighting Man by the Stones, but who gives a
monkey's uncle? Live Forever ripped-off the Stones' Shine A Light and
it's still a classic tune. No one will convince me that Lyla is anything
other than a great rock'n'roll tune to sing your genitals off to,
whether drunk or sober. And that, my friends, is what Oasis is all about.
