CNN covers the news - watch video

This follows the pyramid found in Europe

Interesting that we have pyramids, something until recently exclusively associated with Ancient Egypt, on almost every continent on Earth

Not surprising, there's a lot that is still undiscovered in that region.

I hope this thread doesn't go all conspiracy alien though.

By recently, you mean around the 1500s with European exploration of Mesoamerican civilizations, right?

this was unnoticed..?..
well, at least more stuff for the next uncharted
it looks like it has roads next to it, i dont understand how this could just have been found.

You can create tall, durable buildings by stacking stones onto each other, every new plane getting smaller. Many cultures could figure that out.

Mind=blown.

they're all over the place because they're phallic

Local: Yeah, we always thought this Pyramid shaped hill was sort of suspect but never payed it too much mind

I'm guessing you have to view it from far off and up high to see its irregularities. Is it covered with dirt or something? All that vegetation is crazy.

Wrong again!

on almost every continent on Earth
...annnnd wrong again.

edit: Took out the first two, I clicked the wrong link in your post.

Still, though, these other assertions are incorrect.

how the hell could they just only now find this?

God just planted it there last week, around the same time he made all those new species in Australia. Patch 2,023,932,912.3.

That's what it was designed for, Meus is a conspiracy nut.

If we compiled every description you've made of me, do you think it'd attract publishers wanting to write a biography about me?

CNN is stating its the largest Pyramid "by volume".

Edit: Oops, seen that you edited it out

They didn't - I saw a program about this pyramid on Discovery five-six years ago. The site itself was found almost 100 years ago. I dunno why CNN jumps on it now.

He can add all this but he can't fix the multiplayer bugs on the Great Wall?

It is the easiest, most stable way to make something very large and very tall. It's no more mysterious than a lot of things naturally forming circles. Roughly the same concept.

I can't believe nobody has said 2012 yet.

i wonder...why a triangular shape. i mean, it's not like egypt and south america shared technology.

So why pointy shape toward sky?

It sucks that they have to waste resources guarding it because of assholes who will steal anything, it's despicable.

It's gotta be the engineering, without steel or iron you'd have to build a very big strong base to make something tall.

Squares are easier than other shapes to maintain accuracy as you build upward. To keep stability, it's eaiser to make the squares ever smaller. End result - pyramid.

Reason rectilinear shapes help - pointing in straight lines towards astronomical objects.
