The highlight of this show for myself and Mr. BeOnEdge has been...this:

Best controller ever. Game of the show, too...even though it's not even a game. God, this is the lousiest E3 since 2003s. Almost everything I played was mind numbingly dull. I bet I'm in the minority here too...But I pray to god I'm not.

At E3 next year Sony and Nintendo will have all their games on the floor and Microsoft will have to show off their second generation stuff to compete (and they'll actually have final hardware too). Next year should be an absolutely amazing E3... first E3 with the New-Gen within arms length... MGS4... lol... great shit abound.

If this E3 taught us anything it's this: Games are the bread and butter of any company's staying power within the business.

I know we all know this... but I truly thing we lost grasp of that in the coming months. I mean... what good is an amazing powerful console if we ain't got the games to play it on? At the end of the day... all we want to do is play (with ourselves).

But Zelda is stealing the show... hands down.

I was frustrated, since this was the first E3 I've missed in a few years, and with all the new consoles being shown, I was afraid I'd be missing out on the best E3 in ages.

Yeah, it is ironic that when 3 new consoles are shown that it still is pretty boring. But there really haven't been any surprises. I for one was looking forward to some PSP news. But none at all yet.

in the 7 years i've been this had to have been the absolute worst e3 ever. so bad that i'm already home. so bad that wandered around simply thinking "wtf?" so bad that i truly believe gaming is doomed. rehashes galore, stupid PR people promoting games, pointless stage acts...i fear the direction the industry is headed. i barely played anything because everythings the same. bah. I think everything good has to be behind closed doors because everything on the floor is crap. I dont think i'm gonna even bother giving impressions on anything this year because its all worthless.

if it werent for the 360 controller this e3 would have been a total waste of time.

none of the major 360 games were on the floor. kameo, condemed, call of duty, full auto, top spin and need for speed underground shouldnt have even been on the floor. they would have been better off just showing hardware and a huge video montage of 360 games.

The highlight of this E3 has definitelybeen the Killzone footage. Not the actual footage mind you(which was cool), but the fanboy war that went on afterwards.

It almost resembled a kind of rabid trading thing...

Xbot: "Killzone is NOT REAL TIME! IT'S ALL CG, NO WAY PS2 COULD DO THAT!"

Agreed. New consoles aside, this E3 has sucked. Even though Nintendo's conference was absolutely horrid, they still easily have game of the show with Zelda.

Square Enix's showing was crap.
EA's showing was the same old crap.
Capcom showed me nothing interesting.
Konami at least has Castlevania DS, but we all knew about this anyways.

Even the new consoles were kind of boring. I remember being way more excited when the PS2 was announced. It's all shaping up to become exactly like it was this generation anyways. XBOX360 will have a great online service, support from US companies and Tecmo. Revolution will be a niche platform, perfectly suitable to sit next to my PS3 for when Nintendo releases their big games. Every once and a while, a large Japanese firm will release something worthwhile on it, but for the most part, third party support will be limited. Oh well, at least it will have an online service this time. Meanwhile, PS3 will absolutely dominate with the most games and support.

Even the PSP and DS showings were lacking, considering these platforms are less than a year old. There SHOULD be a lot of exciting new content, but there just isn't (as of yet).

First E3 was a ton of fun. I'm probably getting 'em mixed up but I remember playing 8 player Daytona against Ronnie Lott among others (kicked his ass ). Warhawk was set up with some kind of vibro chair. Got to play Mario 64 for the first time but the Nintendo gal showing me how to play had really bad breath - she must've just eaten at the food court. IIRC Nights was there as a 'Mario-killer', I wanted to steal the controller.

It's very strange to hear people say "Worst E3 since 2003" when there's only been one in between.

I've quite enjoyed this one so far from back at home, but then I'm not there playing the games. Doesn't make much difference to me if things are only movies or not. Doesn't strike me as bad as 2003 from this perspective, but maybe I had higher expectations then or something.

Well you have to kinda expect it's boring due to both big hitters showcasing their next console and footage more readily. Only one that seems to signify that they have a console out atm is Nintendo and even then it's pushing the envelope.

Here's the deal

This is the last year for all 3 systems, so most games being shown for the holidays at E3 aren't going to be very spectacular (save Zelda)

You got the hardware announcements but pretty weak next-gen lineup at this point to play. Just a lot of videos to watch.

Next E3 will be the biggie. You'll get flagship PS3, Revolution, Xbox 360 titles

This E3 is mainly boring because the 3 main consoles are on their last toes, yes not even legs, of their lives and the support is definitely dropping for the 3 consoles. And apparently two of the three companies think that this E3 was too early to go full blast with next gen stuff, so there's really not much to show and do.

I always like when people say, "WAIT UNTIL THE SHOW ACTUALLY STARTS." A vast majority of the announcements happen BEFORE the show at the conferences, that's why they have them. The days are meant for press to play the games. The conferences weren't great, and the show follows suit. It's a matter of course.

That crap-ass, current gen controller is your highlight of the show? Someone make a controller where the d-pad and right analog stick aren't uncomfortable to use and the d-pad doesn't suck, and maybe I could say the same.

My highlight is some new DS games and Battalion Wars looking a lot better. That is pretty weak, but the Mario Baseball and DDR games have actually piqued my interest. They look pretty cool.
