Truly, Cody Rhodes is a god amongst men.

That, or Layla has something for the horribly disfigured.

*leaves a hammer on the table* You know what to do, WrassleGAF.

I remember when I would easily be top 5 in a thread. Alas.

Anyhow, I've always thought SummerSlam was an amazing show.

I mean off hand, I remember 92 being awesome with Bret/Bulldog.
98 with Rock/HHH ladder match and Taker/austin
2000 wit first TLC and Rock/Angle/HHH
2001 had Rock/Booker, Austin/Angle
2002 had Brock/Rock, HBK/HHH
2003 had Brock/Angle and believe 2nd EC
2004 had Angle/Eddie and Orton/******

Then the quality just kind of waxes and wane since then.

He's an indy darling.
Wasn't he a graduate of HBK's wrestling school? That must be why he gets so many chances.

I mean, you would think as over the top obnoxious that Cole has been to the guy for the better part of a year would get the crowd behind him just for the sole fact that people hate Cole and want to see him eat crow and get put in his place. But no, they sit on their hands because deep down they believe what Cole says about him. Bryan has the easiest angle to get over with, but he can't make the audience care about rooting for the underdog against Michael Fucking Cole.

Sad but he just doesn't make people care about him, and I really think Cole is the only one keeping him employed.

7 Years later...Any other decent matches.. How many Summerslam matches were filled with Hogan garbage where he would return just to get a win

Here is great highlight from last years summerslam that shows John Cena can survive more than a car crash that would kill anyone else:

Please don't open old wounds. That was a painful experience.

Hogan main evented the first 4 SummerSlams, and in 2 of the he wasn't even the champion. Always managed to sneak in and steal the spotlight from someone else.

I remember the rage that fueled when that happened. Good times.

Jesus Christ, I'm still so bitter about that crap. Cena's comeback destroyed the Nexus angle. Unreal

Didn't they leave him alone in the middle of the ring for like 5 minutes or something? I remember them not attacking for a long period for some reason.

I didn't see it live, I was watching the thread to follow the matches. I remember people saying he sold it for about a minute or so then won the match. The reactions were better than watching the match.

John Cena dodged Gabriel's 450 one minute and 7 seconds after getting DDt'd on concrete. He popped up, pinned Gabriel RIGHT AWAY, countered Barrett's attempt to grab him with an STF, and won the match 2 minutes after BEING DDT'D ON CONCRETE!

Not only that, Cena helped Orton win by shoving Barrett into the RKO. What a clusterfuck.

Nexus invades WWE and John Cena takes it upon himself to take out the group. Cena fails and is forced to become a member of Nexus. He is threatened with being fired if Wade Barrett loses his title match, so Cena attacks Barrett to have him win by DQ. A month later, they do the same thing, except this time, Cena's fired unless Barrett wins the title. Cena directly contributes to Barrett being hit with the champ's finisher, and counts the pin to get himself "fired," only to most likely show up on RAW again after 1 or 2 months.

What was the fucking point of this angle?
Between this post and Net_Wrecker exactly TIMING that shit I am DYING right now laughing.

I loved the Hardcore Title and the conditions!
Anyone can challenge anytime

WrassleGAF Hardcore Championship, anyone?

(before anyone asks if I'm serious ... no.)

Fun Fact: The WWE Hardcore Championship had 229 title changes in 4 years.

I remember in the old WWF days, a ddt on exposed concrete would be used as an injury angle, or the victim would be in a neck brace for 2 months. Those were the days.

doesnt that go as a testament to John Cena's strength and perseverance?

Ricky Steamboat remembers those days ... or maybe not because Jake Roberts legitimately concussed him when he DDTed him on the concrete.

Who deadah than Kanyon? Nobody!

Test from that Blackman match you posted is also dead.

Yeah, watching the Nostaglia Streams when the Royal Rumble comes up people bet if the next person out is alive or dead.

You'd be surprised how many are still alive.

Employed or not is a better game for recent Rumbles.

Fire Pro has an awesome-looking DDT. I used to give that move to a lot of my CAW's.

Also loved playing Raven in WCW vs NWO for the EVEN FLOOOOWWWW DDT.

man why is it that john cena always get a free pass number one contender for the wwe title. i know he has all these little fans an all but c'mon man, the amount of time the guy winning is getting ridiculous. i actually felt sorry for rey mysterio. it reminds of yokuzuna at wrestlemania IX

Best DDT ever, after Jake The Snake. Both had a nice snap back.

Don't forget that WWE spoiled Danielson's return by posting it on WWE.com during the PPV.
