You're probably just seeing things. Slight gradient in the lighting off of the aluminum material, not an actual curvature.
If they are, that would be the cherry on top of this entire pos. But no, probably not
The original image is distorted horizontally. Your iphone 4 screen is superimposed wrong on it, the width should be the same. Again, image is distorted, so you should probably undistort it first.New image. iPhone 4 screen superimposed on new design. Border along the edge of the screen is definitely smaller.
Nah....they will be black, white, and so far the rumour is the back, at the very least, will be available in 2 more colours. Don't know if that means 2 more front colours as well. I would assume it would, but Apple has had trouble with colours before.

That's inaccurate. The screen will have the same width as the current one, not wider. It'll only be stretched out vertically. So it isn't just a length increase?
Yeah, original image is distorted. Just look at the home button on it.
White was just bad design all around. Not as richly glossy as the black one, and the black border around the screen was jarring - not to mention lock screen and other parts of UI with dark gradients were clearly meant to blend into the black surrounding. White iPhone 4/S was just a thoughtless cash grab IMO.I guess I'm the only one that preferred the white 3GS. The white front on the 4s is heinous.
Eh, I have a white 4S and it's gorgeous and I love it.Yeah, original image is distorted. Just look at the home button on it.

Screw you.
The white iPhones and iPads are the lead SKUs for Apple advertising.Yeah, original image is distorted. Just look at the home button on it.

I find this surprising coming from you since you're so particular about screens. Wouldn't you prefer it to blend into the bezel?
What? Nothing blends into anything.I find this surprising coming from you since you're so particular about screens. Wouldn't you prefer it to blend into the bezel?
How is it stupid in the first place? Not that it makes white any less stupid, but nothing blends into anything on the black one either.
What? Nothing blends into anything.
I'll admit, they look better in ads and photos than they look in real life. The white iPhones and iPads are the lead SKUs for Apple advertising.

Whelp. There goes another year of a non-worthy upgrade. *sigh*
The iPhone 4 design was truly one of a kind, starting to doubt they'll ever top that kind of drastic aesthetically bold change again. This honestly looks to be the ugliest iPhone since the OG in 2007.
Total speculation piece about why Thunderbolt would be a game-changing addition
...I think Thunderbolt would make way more sense than some random new connector, but no idea if that's feasible or not.
That was what people initially said about the iPhone 4.

I don't remember that. I remember people not liking the drastic change, but I definitely thought it was bold and sexy. Couldn't believe people who thought it was an internal prototype never to be release, lol. That was what people initially said about the iPhone 4.
I wonder how all those accessory makers feel now about the new shape and dock. Can't decide whether it'd be good for them or not.
Good: Everyone has to buy all new 3rd party accessories!
Bad: All the expensive shit people just bought won't support whatever the latest thingy is and they'll be angry about it
Really it doesn't seem all that bad unless your car has a dedicated 30-pin connector that you loved or have a home-stereo that you use with a built in 30-pin.
From a consumer POV it's an annoyance depending on how deeply you've invested in something expensive with the 30pin in it.
From a manufacturer POV, it's how recently you shipped an expensive product with a built-in 30pin connector under the assumption that it'd be good forever.
Guarantee they will have a converter plug.My alarm clock and speakers use the pin connector, ugh. At least my car was smart enough to use USB rather than a dedicated connector.
Knowing Apple, I wouldn't be so sure...Guarantee they will have a converter plug.
Knowing Apple they will make one, but it will cost $19.99.Knowing Apple, I wouldn't be so sure...

This just looks honestly bad. As much as it pains me to say it, I wish they would've kept the all-glass back. Much nicer looking than this pos design.
iPhone 4 was bold and sexy, but iPhone 4S was boring even though it was identical, and so is this? Just talking design not what's inside.
I've has said again and again it's all about the design getting out of the way. Just a single piece of glass. Not sure what people are expecting iPhones to look like from here on out. Making it look different just for different's sake is precisely what they are unlikely to do.

As for new dock - its been a while since they started using this one. And each gen changes the shape of the tray needed, so it's not like adapters are unusual. If they bring a dock that'll last ten years I'm fine with that
I really just don't understand why they didn't make it a solid aluminum back. Not even curved, just a flat iPad-like backing material. This cut-off shit is so ugly and unnecessary, imo.I was expecting something that shared the design of a Macbook Air or Pro. Aluminium, single piece, sleek and thin. Either teardrop shape (Air like) or just flat like a Pro, and kinda like the 4 but going from glass to aluminium.
And what would you call this, exactly? :lolMaking it look different just for different's sake is precisely what they are unlikely to do.
People will get what they paid for? Nothing changed.lol what about that kickstarter dock?
