And then I read another post saying that Grok was putting OF girls out of business lmao

Not sure how or where it started but Im sure this kind of stuff isnt going away anytime soon. This is just one of the problems with AI

They're looking for easy money without doing anything.

I hope they do what they do in China, make it illegal to go to that website, and ban it in many countries around the world.

It's not even the OF models that are doing it. There is next to no chance any of them actually run their accounts. I'm 99% sure they hire people to run the accounts for them. People who know how to farm engagement.

I'm seriously considering deleting it now, i used to have Twitter for news but i can't be fucked with it anymore, it just pushes so much crap to you, all fake, all ai, all bots, all for engagments, it makes me sick.

The only other social media i have is Instagram and thats for friends and family only.

it's not legal, that's people bypassing the guardrails.
Everything else has been possible pretty much since imagine launched months ago, though moderation is much more strict for uploaded images than generating from scratch

Their image editing tool has been fairly uncensored for a long time... which is mostly a good thing, since all the other image editing tools out there are absurdly restricted.

As for generating pictures of others, what I saw is exactly what the person above mentioned: it's engagement farming by models, who are starting threads like "put me in a bikini" and implicitly encouraging all the increasingly weird variations others add to the thread ("now cover her in donut icing" etc).

That seems fine, actually I'm happy if AI starts largely killing the ability to make money as an OF model by giving users infinite images of what they want without some women actually selling herself... and this is one step towards that.

As for guardrails that they do need, I think there are two everyone could agree to: a setting (default: on) on your profile that says no image you post can be edited with grok, so that only people who want to play in that space are getting edited; then, obviously a better filter if people are editing underage etc, but I haven't seen that, I assume they have plenty of guardrails for that but somehow are getting circumvented occasionally.

Never use the "For You" tab. Only the "Following" tab and curate the hell out of your list of followed accounts.

Grok at least has removed the hardcore pron, or at least censors it now. There's a whole /grok subreddit only dedicated to nsfw pictures, a whole bunch of people asking "how can I edit existing pictures".

Heck, there are lots of (payed) websites making it possible to have your friends, co-workers or anyone else fully naked and f*ckng.

It will eventually get boring, but it's been out of its bottle for a long time now (deep fake was just the start) and I don't think that even strict regulations can put it back in.

Grok is just the only free version for the mass market right now.

yeah the tools are already out there, no stopping it -- eg. version of Qwen Image Edit that can run on consumer hardware and be custom tuned, which keep edging closer to what grok can do now.

I mean, the second you give people an easy tool to modify pictures you have to assume this is some of the first shit they'll do with it.
That said, yeah seeing it integrated into one of the main social media platforms is awkward to say the least, and them not having some robust filters to at least ensure it isn't being used on pictures of underage people is inexcusable

I can do it on my PC, take any picture and turn it into a video of them doing pretty much anything. If its a head shot you can just say to pan the camera out to reveal a body or an environment, then take that last frame and it's another picture to generate another video from.

It's crazy how quick it is and I'm only doing basic stuff with a limited understanding.

Sometimes, other day someone had posted a picture of Sydney Sweeney and was discussing Korean beef stew in the same thread so I took the picture and made her eat, but It wouldn't let me upload it, I think MP4's are too big for here. Not sure how much the quality would tank converting it to .gif.

It does fudge it quite a bit.
