"WTF moments" in videogames ?

I just wanna know what ever made you say to yourself "WTF ?" in a video game.

1. The Terry Bogard move where he says "Are you OKKKKKKK ?" at the same time as he is performing the move. It's like he's asking : "How you doin' man ?" "fine" "Ok, I'll knock your teeth out".

2. This text in the Samurai Showdown 2 intro

3. While the game never really came out, this character design in Tattoo Assassins always screamed WTF for me

The ending to a PSone game called "D".

Since you can't really save (at least I couldn't), you basically play the length of the game. So you get to the end, two and a half hours later, and you have an option as to what you do with 'Dracula'. Do you- A. Talk to him or B. Shoot him.

Sure, it might not have been a smart move, but I was being a wiseguy and chose 'shoot'. Game Over, instantly. All that progress for nothing... and I sure as shit wasn't gonna waste another two and a half hours of my life. It made me laugh, sure, but I was definitely saying WTF?!? :D

"Fission Mailed" and being told to turn off my console...after I had really been playing for a long period of time.
 
All I remember was something about 61 scissors and Hara-Kiri rock, and that's really all I wish to remember. But don't get me wrong, it's one of my favorite games this generation, but the majority of the game was one huge WTF.

Yeah, that fork ending came out of nowhere. And the Meteos was cut like a tender steak! That's a big WTF moment.

Whenever Sue from Grandia casts the Tremor spell, she screams "Earthquakes are scary!" She's saying that, and casting a spell that causes an earthquake and the way the voice actor did it just makes it one insane WTF moment. :lol
 
WTF I shot that guy three times point blank with the shotgun and then meleed him then he stood on top of a grenade, and then he killed me with the needler!

I say it quite often playing Halo 2 online... stupid lag :)

I think it was all a setup for people like us :-)
I too was playing it for so long and when I got to the part where I was told to turn the machine off...I thought I was hallucinating, then thought, "WTF?"

Most of my WTF moments would be towards anti-climactic endings like Halo 2, Shenmue 2, etc. It's like WTF, it's OVER???

As a kid, the first time I finished SMB3 (all the way through, didn't know where the warp whistles were) I freaked for a few seconds when Toadstool told me the Princess was in another castle.
 
The whole "twist" in Final Fantasy 8 when it turned out that everyone knew each other when they were younger but didn't remember becuase they were using magic (or something like that). :lol
 
The entire Boboboubo Boubobo Hajike Matsuri PS2 game deserves a huge WTF!

I loved it despite not understanding one bit of it.

Reaching the level one boss in Zool. It was a banana. With a spiked collar. And it was pissed. i laughed my ass off, but had weird dreams about it that night.
 
guy beating the living shit outta cody at the end of final fight. :lol me and my friend were all WTF??? then starting dying. friggin hilarious and soooooo unexpected.

Guardian Forces. And yes, hahaha, that wins the prize for absolute worst "plot twist" of all time. It was like the scenario writer suddenly realized there was a huge gaping logic hole in the way the story was going to progress, and they used some shiteating excuse to explain it away. I laughed so hard at that scene irl.


Anyway, my WTF moments...

Had to mention (durr durr) -

The intro to KATAMARI DAMACY. Singing Ducks and floating pandas and multicolored shrooms, and crazy. Enough said!

Moonside in Earthbound. "Yes means no, no means yes... bloo beep bop!" Also, Venus' mother telling me she hopes her daughter isn't posing for any seductive mags now that she's famous.
 
1. The Fat guy rollerblading around in MGS2. After I say that I said WTF is this and I stopped playing it.

2. The end of Halo and Halo 2. WTF where is the rest of my game.
 
Spy Fiction

When Kelly Wong pushes Dr. Kaysen into the chamber with the virus, which is then followed with a gruesome cutscene of Kaysen's flesh exploding

Considering the game's somewhat campy nature, I was definately NOT expecting that.

I borrowed this from a friend, got 100% completion and had a blast doing so, but for the most part didn't understand what was going... who the main villain was, why Marina was a robot/why she was invented, what was the doc doing on that alien Clancer planet, the Marina copycat, who Cerberus Alpha, Sasquatch Beta, and Phoenix Gamma were and why they were attacking me, why they turned into humans later. It was all pretty weird.

The fake ending and credits before the real last boss in Banjo-Kazooie.
 
I really don't understand why everyone was all surprised at the GF thing.

It's mentioned at least like five times earlier in the game that some scientists' research suggested that using GFs led to memory loss. It wasn't some huge "WTF BAIL OUT!" out of right field for me when it was actually revealed that it DID cause the characters to lose their memory.

I can see how you think that, though, if you completely skipped over the mentioning of it earlier in the game.
 
Salazar in RE4. Most unexpected villain ever? I mean sure we've had crossdressing villains in Resident Evil but... a midget castellan who resembles a pirate?

Yeah, but when you think about it, RE4's plot was total camp from start to finish anyway. Salazar fit right in among the villians who refuse to take Leon seriously no matter how many ganados, monks, and giant fucking mutants he wastes.

Creepy mansions, zombies, and weird cross-dressers. The RE universe is indeed horrifying. :lol
