Wuchang: Fallen Feathers | Review Thread

I want to say a 7/10 is a good score, but the way this industry scores things, it's actually kind of poor.

Basically falls into the, "good enough to rent, I guess" category.

Just watched Ziostorms review of it. Pretty good stuff and I'm looking forward to it.

Pros: Combat mechanics, level design, most bosses are fun, game is faster paced, transmog, mostly gorgeous, lots of off-the-beaten-path kind of stuff
Cons: Blurriness occasionally (PS5 DoF weirdness?), lack of weapon quantity, some bosses aren't great, frequency of traps

7.5/10

 


I only listened to a bit for one particular comment I heard about which is about the world having some Dark Souls 1 levels of interconnectivity and secrets. World exploration has always been my favorite aspect of Souls and -likes.

I skimmed some reviews that were bringing down the average. Too hard and/or the character lacking personality. Two things I couldn't care less about. Then you have the ones bitching about the hot protag and the costumes. Lol
 
The later bosses need rebalancing to allow more opportunities to attack but other than that it sounds like a good game. Being able to respec your skills at any time gives you full freedom to experiment which might counter some of the frustrating difficulty in the game.

Going by reviews it's a super generic soulslike with severe performance issues on top. 4/10 is the absolute ceiling for a game like this. Good enough for gamepass I guess
 
Another banger from China. They're just getting their feet wet with these Soulslikes. Wait til they start flexing their muscles. Next gen is going to be fucking awesome thanks to China being a real player now.

73 for Pc
88 for Xbox version(4 reviews; xbox era, somos xbox, generacion xbox, mondoxbox)

Now I have to buy the xbox version, damn.

In SB you lose nothing over death, windows are 10x bigger for dodge and parry (and they are often telegraphed), no rolls, no stat upgrades and it plays more close to MMO than to Souls (and it has difficulty setting too) - and still people put it into souls-like as it have ~some~ mechanics from it like bonfires and quick heals.
It's just genre of action rpg accommodated souls mechanics and they seen everywhere now and it's expected from the new big thing in the genre.
 
75 on MC seems apt for this. Unfortunately read some things in a review that are absolute no-goes for me so I won't be touching it. Still got the Lies of P DLC to work with anyway.
 
One of the reasons why i believe 99% of games would make more money at 50$ than 80$. I would have refunded this at 80$ even if i was still interested, i would wait to for more in depth youtube reviews. At 50 im happy to take my chances.
 
7 or 8/10 is fine with me. I think its low price point makes it an easy buy. But I think it's interesting that it's scoring lower overall than Stellar Blade. I loved that game, but it did have its noticeable flaws.

Very visible image reconstruction artifacts in performance mode. Can go from looking very sharp to very, very low resolution, nice. 😞

I can't stand that shit and I honestly would pick a lower framerate if that shit occurs way less then.
