WWE 2K16 - First Gameplay Details (IGN)

Surely no one thinks any of this is acceptable. Do they? Are there fans that think WWE games are good?

That K.O entrance was PS2 quality. Wrestlers continue to not have facial animations, don't interact with the crowd, the crowd doesn't interact with them, they don't speak, the commentary doesn't acknowledge the actual superstar, they have no subtle movements, they move around stiff and uninterested. It's so frustrating.

This is outside the fact that K.O doesn't look like K.O, and I will forever be bothered by the fact that all the wrestlers instantly spawn at the top of the ramp.

If only the reviews can give these games lower scores than they get. They cruise around the 70s when they should be getting 40s. F*ck this company, I just want a good wrestling game.

Kotaku actually have a decent article on the declining quality of finishers in the games

I miss the action paced gameplay of older games-- remember how you could spin the camera and get multiple instant replays for finishers in Smackdown HCTP? Or how "SMACKDOWN!" came up on the screen and was shattered when hitting a finisher in SYM? Simple, but it was flashy and said "This is a finisher"

This bothers the fuck out of me too. Is it really that hard to put in an animation for the wrestler walking out from behind the curtain?

I just hope the career mode is worth playing this time around. I don't like the idea of a wrestling simulator... To me, wrestling is supposed to be crazy, with lots of action, tension and it's fair share of stupidity. I want to have a career that is extremely improbable, exciting and to be able to play it for as long as I want to. Like in HCTP and RvS until 2009.

Yeah, I think there isn't much of an outrage about stuff like this. I don't think 2K cares as much about wrestling as they do about basketball.

You'll get the "creative has nothing for you" simulator again and you'll like it.

I still wish EA would have gotten the WWE license when THQ went under. They would have at least had the common courtesy to get rid of Yukes

They wouldn't. All the stories that came out around the time was that WWE are the ones that wanted Yuke's. Could have been a reason why EA didn't go in for it.

I'm still iffy on this game. after WWE 2k15, and all its missing features. I'm curious as to what will be in WWE 2k16. I just bought WWE 2k14 and I am loving it.

I still don't think the match types will be up to snuff. They have announced some basics that are back in as options but we have yet to hear about any proper match creator.

Otherwise, the create features I wanted back are all there so I am happy about that.

That's good. The main thing I love is the character creator, and it was such a massive disappointment on WWE 2k15. I also hate how generic the entrances are.

It's a damn shame people were turned off by WWE All Stars' art style and crazy animations because I think the mechanics are top notch

They really are. Fantastic wrestling game on the gameplay front. I personally dug the over top artsyle and moves as well. All the game lacked was content. I really wish we got a sequel.

That's the one made by the team that created TNA Impact, right? If so, yeah, that was a fun game with cool mechanics.

I wish the team had another chance to make a TNA impact game, as the original was pretty competent for a brand new franchise. It was barebones, sure, but was a solid foundation.

That TNA game came out at a point when I actually liked TNA. Man, that's scary to think about.

Yeah! Christopher Daniels, Kaz, AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Sting, Main Event Mafia, etc were actually entertaining and, for the most part, very good in ring.

Don't worry, it wasn't that bad back then, and WWE was in an all time low.

So how many pages did the Taylor Swift avatars waste in Wrasslegaf using this video as yet another excuse to shit on Owens?

less than one

Owens sucks. It's not everyone's fault he's not fun to watch.

are they going to announce a Special Edition this year? Last 2 years it was the first week of August. Maybe they're holding out till SummerSlam?

Some of the elders over on WrassleGAF are just salty that a different indie darling that isn't their indie darling of choice got popular.

Why are you people shitting on Kevin Owens and Taylor Swift? They're both great. Taylor just has the benefit of not having to deal with post Cena feud doom.

Why is this game so slow? Wrestling games have been affected by the "muh realism" plague affecting all sports games.

I prefer it.

They need to make a separate game for you. A lot of us want a sim-style.

I thought last year's game played great. It lacked in features, had the usual Yukes glitches, but I managed to get a lot of great matches out of it.

This is how 2K sport games are. The arcady style can be super fun, too. I don't know why 2K doesn't make up another series, especially since they co-op the standard games now with Yukes.
