...I should be contributing right now, shouldn't I
Nah, you are doing great.
WE CAN DO THIS
I BELIEVE IN YOU
WIN
I wasn't talking to you
kawl was fluffy, repeating previous statements and making technical comments about the form of the game rather than scum hunting. The tenor of his posts, before and after being accused were both weird and a little bit off, after going in on him I noticed a lot of people failing to mention him when they gave reads, I'm sure some of them are oversights or they don't know what to make but by the numbers I feel like there's scum team making a conscious decision to ignore him. He's leaned into the idea of conflicting claims between retro and scrafty which I think is not a real thing. Then he made some weird suggestions conflating my ability with being a role cop which it isn't. He also at one point said "I know my role" which struck me as an odd thing for him to say in response to being called out for calling me an executioner.
I am.
Unvote
So I've given players 2 opportunities to comment on an idea and now I'm going to reveal something.
Someone approached me last night. They could have been a man, a woman, a small child, or perhaps some sort of human alien hybrid (probably not a full alien though). I could not tell which for they were shrouded in mystery.
Inventive claim.
I lost my place now.
Scrafty, you really think it was unreasonable for me to believe squidy was a big fat liar?
Scrafty, you really think it was unreasonable for me to believe squidy was a big fat liar?
Oh right, the individual that approached me attempted to take from me my very identity, that which I am, leaving me as little more than a shell, a mere ordinary WWF Superstar.
Needless to say they failed in their attempt but be on the lookout, lest you too are accosted by such thuggery in the night.
Anyway long story short someone tried to turn me into a vanilla town but I'm better than that so I think scum believed that I had withheld some aspect of my role that would be useful for town.
If I did I'm sure not going to let you scummy bastards take it away from me.
Not at all. LA DIABLA thought that his role was a lie too, but one that came from a place of innocence. LA DIABLA just thinks it's suspicious that you backed off when you did and then faded into the background once squidy worked his money-making magic.
Eh what? So besides being a 1 shot day cop you also can tell what roles tried to target you?
So you're a 1 shot ascetic day cop self watcher style thing?
I was merely notified that this action was attempted against me. I make no claims about sources of protections or reasons for notifications.
On the off chance the vanilla-user is town, what happens if they target Burb? Does Burb become vanilla town?
I'm sorry you don't like my list, but my first game here taught me to take the long view. Try to avoid death if you can, but if it seems certain, then try to make your death worth something.
If I die, and when I flip town, I like people to know who I suspect. Terra and Corn in particular, with Magnum and Palmer as secondary targets.
But I'd really prefer to not die. I know my role, if you smell what I'm cooking?
I don't have any, which troubles me. I was thinking of voting Terra/Kalor/Ultron as they've been completely under the radar. It's not entirely out of the ordinary for any of them but Terra wins the "biggest underperformer" award.
Oh almost forgot Palmtree. He's been looking vaguely sketchy all day and I think it's weird he's gone almost completely unmentioned.
This has almost turned into a complete reads list at this point, so I'll continue.
Corn I gave a gut scum read earlier, he hasn't been posting as much since but there's been nothing to change that.
Burb... this isn't a fair argument, but: he's reminding me of scum-Splinter. I don't trust him at all. That isn't something I'd feel comfortable leaving a D1 vote on, but I'll be keeping a close watch on him (note: "close watch" is not a breadcrumb)

Hey Scrafty! Thanks for checking in with your opinion. Your calling out of CornBurrito made me remember something - namely, the words of Retro and Splinter, which I'll quote here (I snipped Splinter's post a little for space, but click on the link to get to the rest of her list):
So both Retro and Splinter suspected scum, but for some reason, some of their suspicions never gained traction. If scum is really controlling Town narrative, I think it's important to look at the opinions of dead confirmed Town, especially when it comes to who they suspected as scum.
...but not just anyone they suspected as scum. We should be taking a look at their scum suspicions that 'slipped through the cracks' yesterday. Why didn't Corn ever face heavy fire? For that matter, why didn't Terra? I think those two were their big 'overlap' suspects that for some reason never seemed to be the dominant subject of discussion.
What do people think?
you thunk it just makes Squidy ordinary? I was thinking it steals abilities.
Yes I interpreted it as it just making him vanilla.

That's what you want people to believe?
I think the big reason why these didn't much, if any traction is because they didn't tunnel us. Look at the vote count: I have all of two, a prod vote from Scrafty and a vote from splinter. Corn only has one from Retro. If some REALLY feels someone else is scum, they have to take a more Darryl-like approach.
Hmmm yeah now that you mention it, it does seem like a role like this would fit the design of this game. There seem to be a lot of roles floating around based on the flips, and this kind of neutral can act as 'balancing out' the amount of power roles there are.Either is possible. I'm not certain which would be more plausible though.
I can't imagine either version is town.
Ah, fuck. Call it a hunch.
Vote: Kawl_USC
Scum or neutral who really didn't want to risk squidyj using the ability on him if it wasn't 1-shot. If I'm right, he's probably Neutral. Scum would just kill squidyj.
A neutral role that wins by Vanillaizing X power roles. Wouldn't prevent town from winning, though it's probably more anti-town than anti-scum.
Maybe this was Nin's trolly way to try and punish role claimers. We've had a lot of mos attempt it.
Out of the confirmed towns, I am thinking that magnum was the easiest target for mafia yesterday. Scrafty, seath, and retro all had defenders. I don't think magnum had a single person defend him. Mafia is probably taking that easy target.
Out of the magnum voters kawl sticks out most to me. So maybe kawl could flesh out his magnum read a little more.
Seeing as YN was kind enough to show how massively I botched that attempt at untying...

Will return to probably change this vote tomorrow, barring oversleeping.
That's a good point. I was tunneling Magnum pretty hard yesterday, but I remember no one really challenging me on my opinions other than you and Splinter. I also remember Splinter asking people to justify why they're voting for Magnum, but I was the only one who responded. In retrospect, I really should have realized how strange that was.Out of the confirmed towns, I am thinking that magnum was the easiest target for mafia yesterday. I guess it's not super important but I don't understand why squid would be notified at all if the action failed. Squid has no reason to lie but still.
