So who won the GAF Rumble? There was 4 pools so i guess i have to have a random drawing or have Sunflower do a 4 way in GWF to pick the winner of the DDT4 dvd giveaway?

I came here to watch WrassleGAF rage, you did not dissapoint me.

As for me, Aside from Cena overcoming in the end over Ziggler, although expected, is not the way to go. But hey, whatever, we knew it was happening. Punk/Rock was great, don't know why everyone's so upset, he could've lost the title at Mania to Cena, I'm sure you would have all loved that.

The guy had the longest title run in modern times, he's not buried. He can forever boast to be the longest reigning WWE champion (excluding olden days we don't count anyways), that's one hell of a thing. He can't stay champion forever and losing to Rock? Not exactly something to be ashamed off.

Besides, Rock is not an "old guy" he's a beast and a legend, a fucking legend. The only person that could beat Punk was one of the greatest wrestlers in WWE history, that's what it took. They threw everything but the kitchen sink at Punk for over a year, but only one of the greatest was able to beat him. That's not buried, that's a fucking rub if I ever saw one.

Now, we get Cena vs Rock Twice In A Lifetime, that sucks and that's the only reason the aftertaste of the Rumble is bad, Punk losing to Rock however, not it.

Hopefully Punk learns from his loss tonight.

A perfectly executed elbow from a top rope leap has nowhere near the power of one delivered by somebody falling on you gently. He should save his energy for the pin.

I'm very happy with Rock vs Cena. If Cena has to bury somebody at WM, and I think we all know he does, then at least it will be somebody who isn't coming back.

Will be plenty of other great matches to watch and now he wont be shitting them up.

Overall? Great show, shit finishes but that has to happen some times. Bring on RAW.

Bleh.

The Rumble itself:

At least Cena didn't eliminate Ziggler. I'll be pissed if Bo Dallas is the next IC champ. Zero interest in Twice in a life time.

Rest of the show:

ADR/Show was okay. Punk vs Rock was okay. I don't really have a problem with Rock beating Punk, but again, zero interested in Twice in a life time. I'm kind of stunned that this will be the 3rd Wrestlemania in 4 years to have the main event or a headlining match be a rematch from the previous year.

This was one of the least creative shows in a long time. Completely by the numbers, obvious booking. That shit is boring. This show needed a SWERVE.

This is the real problem. More than who won or lost, the show was just boring. Creatively bankrupt, no energy, nothing truly memorable, no great visuals, no great moments, nothing. They took the straightest and easiest way to get where they wanted to go in every single situation.

If that started the "Road to Wrestlemania," they've already run out of gas.

The only way this all works out for me in the end, is if Cena turns heel at Wrestlemania. Just do what Austin did at 17. If something like that doesn't happen, I'm going to take an extended break.

This show's SWERVE was that Bo Dallas is getting a push.

BO DALLAS

That might be the biggest and worst SWERVE of all time. The only good thing about Bo is that he has the old school cowboy wrestling boots. How can a dude of Windham and Rotunda blood have so little talent? Your dad is IRS, your grandpa is Blackjack Mulligan, and your uncles are Barry and Kendall Windham (who was fucking awesome in WCW, super underrated, as was Bobby Duncum Jr.), and you are that shitty?

All the talent went to Bray Wyatt, can't be helped.

They just want a young guy they think the little girls will swoon over. I think Big Show mentioned that one guy from Twilight looking like him.

Personally I think he's ugly as all hell, but I admit I'm not the best source on the subject of what makes a dude hot or not.

Twins!

IT's not just the fact that punk lost to a part timer who will disappear after WM

but it's the fact he lost to a part timer who will disappear after WM that ended the match with a People's Elbow

It's a little cynical that they ended his reign like that tho. Motive wise it's pretty questionable what there real intentions were.

Yeah, The People's Elbow. One of the most over finishers in wrestling history that The Rock has used to win many, many matches. How dare they have CM Punk lose to that move.

Triple H is a very overrated wrestler with a whiny angry heel gimmick, he can go down with a People's Elbow. Kurt Angle lost his first title reign with TWO rock bottom, and went down with another big one at Vengeance 2002 where Rock won the Undisputed Title. Booker T also was defeated with the Rock Bottom, and so did Austin in the winner takes all. He won the title twice with the sharpshooter.

tl;dr The People's Elbow is a toy finisher for crowd reaction, it doesn't empower or give props to your opponent in any way.

Punk took a Rock Bottom last night, I don't see the problem.

Sure, he didn't get it as planned through the table, but rather on the floor, but he still took a Rock Bottom as well as two finishers. Besides, anyone that actually watched that match saw that Rock and Punk both looked like a million bucks, so how anyone can even complain about Punk being "buried" is so far beyond me I can't even see you anymore.

If Cena doesn't turn heel at WM I'm through with pro wrestling for good. It's just not worth the time investment anymore.

Lets put it this way. The Rock is The People's Champion, and Punk had turned against the people. Rock finishes him with The People's Elbow. In kayfaybe, Rock channels the power he gets from the people into that elbow, sort of as if it was The Rock's Spirit Bomb or something and Punk is finally defeated by the people he turned against.

Shit PPV, shit finish to the match.

I don't know how you can defend this crap.

I expected Punk to drop the title but the way it was done has left a sour taste in my mouth.

I don't know why, but I laughed pretty hard at this. I pictured crowd energy pouring into the Rocks elbow.

Another clear Shield shot in case anyone was holding out hope:

Noooooo. There goes my theory of Rock being stripped of the title. Ugh.

2nd only to:

Look at that bad ass on the left. I miss HBK. :-(

Me and my kid will be there on Sunday.
Rumble is Jericho!

I CALLED IT! Best moment of the night for me and many there.

My notes:
This was a great event live as the big 4 almost always are.

I don't know if it came across on TV, but the PHX audience HATED the Rumble ending.
There were the standard Pro- and Anti-Cena chants, but there was complete agreement that
Ryback deserved the win or at least a more honorable elimination.

Cesaro is over, love-to-hate is a great place to be.

ADR is going to get much tweener-love, "cheat to win" is back.

Ziggler better cash in soon, because his heat seemed tepid.

Being beneath the WM sign is weird when the pyro goes off. Deafening pyro and a feeling that all of a sudden your in the movie The Natural doused in sparks.

Punk deserved a better end to his streak, but The Rock "prints money" especially after cutting a "my mom's had/got cancer"promo, so props to both men.

That would almost make sense if the Rock disn't cut a promo on Monday saying how the Rock Bottom was going to end Punks tirle reign.

I'm trying to figure out how Jericho returning was bad. Seen it on twitter and so on. No one saw him coming back and I think they hate that creative managed to do something they couldn't predict. Also he puts people over.

Remember how Rock did a Rock Bottom on Punk during last nights match?

Because I do.

He also withstood a Sharpshooter and didn't use GTS only to have Rock kick out at 2. As much as people seem to hate to admit it, a loss to the Rock in a solid match a high profile PPV actually does a lot to elevate him. People watching wrestling for the first time in a few years now know who CM Punk is and that hes in the Rock's league.

BTW all you new fellas, don't be afraid to come to our WrassleGAF Community OT. Enjoy your stay, we're all suffering just by different degrees.

I was too much in disbelief yesterday with how the PPV went from being something so great to so shitty to even post in this thread. My God...could WWE be anymore dumb than this?

I know I'm a little late but it still annoys me. Well, we all knew that this was going to be the outcome of this PPV.

I'll pop in occassionally until The Rock is gone. We cool forever since you're a fan of Brotista.

Brotista fist right here.

Punk had a good run and lost to a future hall-of-famer, a multiple time champion. How is this defeat a mark of shame?

Speaking as someone who hasn't watched wrestling since last year's 'Mania, last night's main event was full of stuff that made me quit watching wrestling in the first place. The whole lights out/strip you/restart the match thing felt cheap and contrived. Him losing to the People's Elbow severely undercuts the fact that Punk out-wrestled the Rock for most of that match. CM Punk was presented prematch as someone to be respected with his 425+ day title reign, but then he has a cheating manager that gets involved here or there. Couple that with the aforementioned lights out crap and it's hard to take Punk seriously, even if he's obviously a great wrestler. That match didn't win me back, I can tell you that. No offense if you're into it, of course, but I feel like the fans deserve better than what they're given.

Was lurking while watching and now that I'v gotten some sleep some of the sour taste has washed off after that horrendous PPV. I have not felt this indeffrent about WWE since I started watching it again. A strong WWE title streak wasted and given to a person who is not even a part timer and to top it all off he wins with a People's elbow?! A rock bottom at least. Losing to a move like that made Punk look super weak and had no impact what so ever it was like a mouse farting just saddening. A the RR....Listen..I respect Cena I really do but seriously? I came back to watch WWE for the new Blood. It feels like I never left 12 years ago...WM looks to be so bad at this point. I don't see how they can save Punk at this point after such an abysmal loss. The Shield is the last thing they can do with him for a fight at this point but, he's better then that. If Raw don't show me anything tonight I'm taking my first break in 2 years. I personally hope they do something with Ambrose soon to keep me watching.

If Cena doesn't turn heel at WM I'm through with pro wrestling for good. It's just not worth the time investment anymore.

I don't understand posts like this. You realise that wrestling is more than just WWE (or TNA, for that matter), right? There are a number of awesome promotions out there putting on quality wrestling if you take a little time to look out for them. Like New Japan. It's by far the best promotion on the planet at the moment. For North American promotions, Chikara and PWG are well worth watching. And while I don't watch much lucha, I'm pretty sure AAA are going pretty well (how could they not with LA Park as their champ?).

Anyway, very disappointing show but there were a couple of bright spots.

I thought ADR/Show was really good up until the anti-climactic finish. I did really like how that incorporated Del Rio's targeting of the arm into it though, so it wasn't just a 100% fucked finish. I hope to fucking god it stops there though, and he doesn't go down the same asshole route as Cena, Sheamus, Ryback and Orton.

Tag match was surprisingly blah considering who was involved. Decent but I couldn't really get into it. I guess Kane finally managed to drag the other three down to his level.

Rumble was pretty blah. The final three were groan worthy and Cena winning was pretty deflating.

The main event was pretty good right up until the bullshit finish, even though Rock was obviously pretty gassed and had a bit of ring rust. The finish was just... Fucking dumb. I could live with a Dusty Finish on Raw or Smackdown but a PPV? Nope. Fucking dumb. Can't believe those idiots thought it was a good idea even after they pulled that shit in a fucking WM main event.

I guess I should give the WWE some credit for actually following through with their long term booking but honestly, that long term booking sucked. I'm fine with Rock getting the title but I really, really don't want Rock/Cena 2 (or Triple H/Brock 2...). Rock/Brock would've been something I could get excited for, or even Punk/Rock 2, but Rock/Cena 2? Ugh.

I have to lol at everyone freaking out over Jericho when everyone has been shitting on his last run for being useless and dumb since August.
