This is one of the all time greatest tweets ever. It applies to so many situations in and out of the wrestling business.

A worked shoot is using real life material for a scripted promo, which is what happened here. Which is what my expert quotes in the OP illustrate. It is the perfect storm of wrestling angles, fake enough to be enticing and real enough to make you forget you are watching something scripted. Good stuff.

Damn, this is great.

To bad The Miz is a boring worker, no one will ever see this on TV, and none of this intensity will cross over to the show.

Boring worker? Pal you clearly haven't seen his Oscar worthy performance in the Marine film series. Could you see a vanilla midget like Bryan being able to out in such a performance? I thought not.

I didn't know Marine 4 had Summer Rae. I may have to watch it now...

With Ambrose as champ I never thought it were real. You can't complain about the miz while having the wacky line hold the title.

Wow! I can't believe it's The Miz that's got me super excited for the next week of wrestling. Why can't WWE realize this kind of stuff is the biggest draw, not the same stale match ups every week. Hire some people who are actually good on the mic please!

It was astonishingly good. Like, really really good.

It was also a complete and utter work.

It also doesn't matter because the Miz is still boring as fuck in the ring and he can keep giving hot fire promos but if his matches make people go to sleep or change the channel it accomplishes nothing.

Guys, why aren't more people talking about Vince getting blown up when his limo exploded? Shouldn't there be more news about this man getting killed in such an incredible fashion?

True story: Donald Trump called Triple H after that happened to see if Vince was really dead.

I know it's a work, but at least it blurred the lines a bit. It was an excellent promo. This is the kinda stuff that WWE needs to do to become relevant again.

I don't care what it was. That was fantastic!
And I'm so tired of the whole WWE cookie cutter thing to the point where I barely even watch it anymore besides a big PPV once in a while.

But this was great, despite it being hard to watch.

Miz is a boring worker.

And? It's a business. Dude works the style which lets him wrestle without long term sabbaticals. Better that than being a dumbass who came back from injury and did a duel head butt spot on Raw.

It's the ultimate work to work over people who think they're too smart to get worked.

It involved real emotions (Miz letting off steam in regards to people being hyper critical of his style for years and his justification of said style) with Bryan as the smark mouth piece.

And it was amazing

Definitely a work but its still nice to see Miz put in some effort and going all out on the mic. Segments like this is something this pg era needs more of.

Also DB is right. The Miz has like the softest, safest and most boring style out of any wrestler today. Its similar to the criticism that Bret Hart had on Triple H when he said H has never been in a great match. Same with Miz. He can brag all he wants about never being injured and always working but fans aren't gonna give a shit. Wrestlers are remembered for great matches first n foremost. That is what makes you great.

The wrestling community values "shoots" more than anything else. So it doesn't really matter that Miz is bullying a man who was forced into retirement and said "I would wrestle if they let me." The fans see him as the hero now. Miz is very much like Brock Lesnar in that way.

That was most entertaining thing I've ever seen from the Miz. Let him do that every week!

I live in the Seattle area so I'm surrounded by D-Bry lovers, but honestly I was never that enamored by him and was mostly bored with his in-ring work.

He's even MORE boring as a GM. He has zero charisma or personality. If the YES! chant wasn't so popular I don't think he would even be remembered at all.

Yes it's a work, possibly a work with a side of shoot thrown in because after Bryan said his style was cowardly Miz looked like he started shaking a little bit.

Greatest thing about wrestling is watching it with hardcore fans. I just sit back and smile as I read wrestling GAF and watch my friends melt everytime it is on.

Real or not that was pretty cool.

He looked like he was about to cry as well, and I thought he's supposed to be a heel? why did he say 'I'm the one who loves the fans!.' lol.

Never watched wrestling. Just watched that.

There is doubt over whether that is real or fake?

whew

You have to understand the context of it. Daniel Bryan was forced to retire after numerous concussions because his style is hard hitting, high risk that visually looks stunning but takes a heavy toll on the body when screw ups happen, and Miz has for years had an extremely safe if boring in ring style that nearly guarantees he doesn't hurt himself. It was a meta argument on their performance styles that bled into real life and fake.

Idiots.

Eddie's in hell guys!

Bret is a salty motjerfuckermotherfucker.

HHH was the best wrestler on the planet in 2000. Dude was making guys like Taka seem like they had a chance to beat him. He may have been mediocre post quad injury, but the guy has flat out been in good shit.

Hell, he went hold for hold with 2000 Benoit in a straight wrestling match.

Bret has been through hell. But at the same time, I don't think he's gotten over the fact that even though he did everything "right", people still think of Shawn as the GOAT and not him
