^Singer confirms that any character can die in this one, even if they appeared at the end of DoFP. Not that I expect any of them to die, but interesting nontheless. I am 100% sure either Mystique or Magneto will die.

Yeah that was a pretty interesting interview. The way Singer is describing certain scenes makes it sound like Cyclops has more personality in this film than he did in the first three X-Men films combined. Which isn't saying much at all but still.

I also like how they will address Magneto's fugitive status post dofp. The mall scene sounds like it will be really fun

Awesome interview. I know some don't like Singer's X-men movies, but he hasn't failed me yet and I think he'll knock it out of the park with Apocalypse.

Could it be? A good live-action Cyke? Should I get my hopes up? Also this bit here:

I just started to research the characters and I found them so compelling and their relationships with each other were so interesting that I thought ‘I can make this universe really cool, and I can see it through Wolverine’s eyes because he kind of doesn’t buy it.’

And this is where I will probably out myself as a non-comic book person, but I did not come from reading comic books. So for me I was very cynical about it, like ‘They call themselves Cyclops, Storm, Sabertooth,’ but with Wolverine, Logan, I said I can be Logan and by the end of the movie I can embrace this universe, so I can tell this story. Through him I can make this movie and I can make it like a film that happens to be based on a comic book, that happens to have action sequences in it, but it’s still to me a film. It’s not just genre. It’s a film. Like Usual Suspects or Apt Pupil or whatever films I had made at the time.

Explains a lot

I just wish he'd finally fully embrace the universe and its characters, it's not like it'd be to the detriment of the movies

The "anyone can still die" just seems like a bit of damage control to inflate some faux-tension into the movie, but does anyone really expect that anyway? Scott, Jean, and Storm are being introduced for the first time in this new timeline, of course Singer isn't going to kill them off now; Xavier is just now coming into his own as the full-fledged Professor X, of course Singer isn't going to kill him now. Plus it just undermines the happy ending of DOFP, and the whole "fix the future" plot of that movie.

Magneto and Mystique aren't seen at the end of that movie, though, and I totally expect at least one of them to die in Apocalypse.

I always thought along with what singer is saying here that the future timeline can be changed at any time with any event we see from here on out. It was even said at the end of that movie. It's time travel fuckery 101.

Kinbergs dumb ass statement negated that but Im hoping he just misspoke or there's an idea clash between him and singer

Having said that you're right. Of the people who will likely die, neither are seen in that scene when wolverine wakes up. I hope it's mystique rather than Magneto. Even though Fassbender is a very busy man I'd like to see him stay on whenever he's needed

So he's interested in making real films, rather than assembly line products where one sets up the next one?

Yep, that's why I love these films (X2, DoFP).

ah yes mutant martial arts.

Who can forget the amazing martial arts skill shown by Cyclops, Jean, and Storm in the statue of liberty fight in the first x-men movie.

;)

It was so weird that Wolverine, being the newcomer joining a group who were trained to fight, was the only one that showed any competence.

well he was in cage matches as champion.

But uh yeah...well at least jean could pose with her hands and hold a guy mid air.. ?

Started to slowly re-watch all the Xmen movies in anticipation of Apocalypse.

X1 - The visuals and make up are dated and Storm was pants but overall it was such a well acted and good film.

X2 - Not seen this in a few years and i was blown away with just how amazing it is, the Intro, Plastic prison escape, Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike fight (why did she have to die :-( , film is still amazing.

On to X3 and both wolverine movies next

...would you do that to yourself, especially with Wolverine Origins? (At the least just play the game instead).

Keep going...

Eh, they're bad X-Men movies, but enjoyable action movies. At the very least, they're entertaining

I'd say that of X3, but not of Wolverine Origins. Origins is one of the worst things I've ever seen. I think fucking Will.i.am being in it really pushes it into that territory, for me.

I don't know if I'll re-watch all of them, but I'm thinking of doing First Class, X2, and DoFP. Might throw The Wolverine in before DoFP, but not sure.

I think this comes out a couple weeks earlier here in Taiwan.

Ahh yes X1 Storm, that shitty wig and god awful attempt at an African accent. Glad she forgot about it in the following movies.

Last outing for JLaw in X-Men and if Cyclops is actually something decent he'll take over so more likely her.

Seems more likely to me that any future X-Men movies will be back in modern times so they can bring in Deadpool etc. and start building up a X-Men movie universe.

Is the new trailer out? I see a bunch of articles about it, but no official links yet

I just saw it. It's got chinese subs on it so it's not an official release. Some pretty sweet action shots but man it kind of spoils some stuff i didn't want to see until the theater. like a nice quicksilver joke and also a dope cameo.

Even after all this time I'm still absolutely baffled why they made Mystique such a prominent member of the team. Shes so different to her comic character that the only similarity is basically the name. I also think Singer has gotten the tone of his X-men films wrong. They should be much darker, they are too goofy. More along the lines of God loves Man Kills.

I'm not being blown away by anything I've seen to be honest. It's nice to see the action and more focus on the team rather than one individual member. I'll go see it, but right now I'm not that interested.

I liked that Chinese trailer. Cheesy in some parts, but it looks like the climax is going to be insane.

Looked fine. I don't really like what they've done with the filter on Apoc's voice though. I liked it best in the first trailer, when it was more just Isaac's voice.
