From what I've read from Sophie, they acknowledge Jean's considerable and growing power...I just hope it makes a difference in battle and they don't artificially nerf her. No "incapacitated by Toad" absurdity from X1.

Yeah Jean was actually pretty weak in the comics until the Phoenix happened...but with All New X-Men they showed a young Jean who is still ridiculously powerful without it. They need to somehow showcase that in the movie.

I hope with his new augmented powers, Magneto can at least use his forcefield. These movies need a scene where Cyclops is trying to blast through Magneto's forcefield.

This is not really true...relative to her teammates, Jean was pretty up there, especially once she had her telepathy unlocked. 60s era Jean has lifted and tossed Beast around several times, lifted The Juggernaut(including twice in the same issue), yanked Angel out of the sky and kept him pinned down to the top of a train, toppled Sentinels, lifted several steel I-Beams, manipulated dozens of small parts of a rifle and put it back together, telekinetically probed through solid objects, restrained the rest of the team, manipulated 4 full sized Icemen to pummel an opponent, and telepathically hurt Juggernaut through his psi-proofed helmet with a degree of pain he put on par with Xavier(and yes I know the "original" explanation, but given the absurdity of it, it's long been retconned")

The "weakest" rhetoric came mostly from Cyclops' insecure thought bubbles during the Phoenix era.
