X-Men Legends 2 Thread

Since the other thread I tried to up died off I made one!

If you have the game already please feel free to give us your impressions.

I've got a feeling I'm going to be playing this all night tomorrow >_<

PS2, Xbox and GCN all same (except you cannot play online with the GCN version). PC is supposed to have extra characters, Ngage too and extra danger room missions or something, PSP version comes out in October but it has 4 extra playable characters, 9 extra levels and wifi adhoc and infrastructure modes. The speculation is
Cable
will be one of the extra playables in the PSP version.

The lineup for playables now is

Cyclops
-Wolverine
-Magneto
-Bishop
-Storm
-Nightcrawler
-Juggernaut
-Toad
-Colossus
-Sunfire
-Scarlet witch
-Gambit
-Iceman
-Rogue
-Jean Grey
-Professer X

and two unlockables in the consoles are
Iron Man, yes indeed Iron Man and Deadpool who strangely enough is a boss too. Lends credence to Cable being playable in PSP version also

Ships today. You should be able to find it later this evening depending where you are (ie closer to the west coast). If not, tomorrow.

Apocalypse was around long before
Cable
so while the connection is common today... that wasn't always the case.

The
archangel
one actually makes more sense... but even that came after a period of time in Apoc's X-men history...

From what I understand,
Archangel
is a Boss, which makes sense.

Really f#$%#$% lame. I don't want to pick it up for anything else...and probably won't.
 
one thing i loath the original on was that when playing w/ 3 other ppl, it ends up a game searching for blue pots instead trying to enjoy it. certain mutant powers should be passive and not require blue pots...like flying and sliding. i wonder if Legends 2 is the same thing?

Eh? And this was different than single player because? Seriously, I never played single player much (at all) so explain the difference.

Agreed. I'm hoping they went the Capcom megaman route and certain powers that you gained in the first are useable right from the start in this one.

The main problems I had with the first were:
1- Levels where only one person could play. (ie Magma's)
2- The constant trodding around the mansion for no good reason, again with only one person being able to play.
3- The fact that I couldn't play single with just one character and team mates were needed. This was a personal thing though. ;)

1 and 2 were resolved as far as I know.
 
Has anyone else played this on Live? Apparently you can only join games that have users running the same resolution as you - so far I have not been able to join a game because I guess nobody else is playing in 720p. Thats really lame.

Yup - you get this message when you sign into live:

"you will be unable to join games that use a different tv standard, video mode, or resolution."

Great game otherwise - theres so many awesome characters.

You sure that isn't referring to brits running NTSC? Burnout 3 had the same problem.

I hope I'm wrong. But it does say resolution and I havent been able to find a single game online.

Well the easiest thing to try would be to shut off 720p and see if anything shows up.

Jesus people are so jaded nowadays it almost makes me puke. An extra character is just that, extra. Most of them are still in the game as NPC's and the story does not change at all. They just become extra playable AFTER you beat the damn game. Which as much as people bitch around here you would never get around too anyways. If you would deny yourself a good game just because another version has an extra character then I really pity you as a gamer.

4- Not enough boss fights, nay barely ANY boss fights. Always dissapointed to slog through a 20+ minute dungeon fighting the same foes without a real climax or a big bad sprinkled in there. I recall a Toad fight somewhere in the middle and the final showdown with Magneto as the only true bosses you faced in the 20+ hour campaign. This hopefully is fixed.

I bought the Xbox version. I'm just bitching because I like the characters and I don't want to be led into buying it on another system. Clearly I'm not denying myself, if anything, I'm trying to avoid gluttony.
