X-Men Legends 2 Thread

I bought the Xbox version. I'm just bitching because I like the characters and I don't want to be led into buying it on another system. Clearly I'm not denying myself, if anything, I'm trying to avoid gluttony.

Ok then, as long as you bought the game everything's fine :D

I always thought
cable
was overrated anyways.

He is. But I'm old school (late 80's, early 90's...maybe middle school?) biased.

Are all characters trapped on the same screen like Guantlet/Final Fight or is it like PSO where you can go to different sections of the level without being on the screen together all the time?

The lag ranges from very little to none at all. You dont get your own seperate screen or anything. I think it only supports one person per console, unless I missed something. Also if you play in 720p you can only play with others using the same graphical setting. Im really happy with it so far.

Edit: You can save and resume your progress online. It still shows the cg movies and stuff, its exactly like the single player version except you can play with old friends and siblings across the country. :)

agh, my cheap cheapiness in tv's has foiled my co-op plans, haha. Played with some other cheapies for a bit. Very nice. Game doesn't seem very different from the first. Menus and such are nicer...and the online portion is pretty cool. I like how it saves progress. Also, you can have danger room scenarios online which is bad ass.

Seems as though if you liked the first, you'll love the second though it's too early to see if they adjusted the story a bit better. Voice work is sort of crap.

Time to break down and get the HDTV :( eBay is about to see some rarer games so I feel better about it.

this game rocks cept it's confusing as hell online

1 person hits pause and we all pause

you need to find 3 non-retarded people and work as a group

me and this other guy made it pretty far til the game froze during a loading screen

trapped :\

Is the game hideous? The first, as fun as it was, almost reminded me of Gauntlet Dark Legacy in its hideosity. Hell, it looked like a 1st gen game. Maybe.

But damn it all to hell, was it fun!!

Looks great in 720. I thought the first one did too.

Apocalypse was around long before
Cable
so while the connection is common today... that wasn't always the case.

The
archangel
one actually makes more sense... but even that came after a period of time in Apoc's X-men history...

a correction: Apocalypse first appeared in issue 4 of X-favtor. Arc-Angel or death at the time, appeared by issue 19 of x-factor. So Apocalypse didn't have this long history with the x-men, before Arc-angel aka Death.

Played my entire game online. Made it up to the Savage Lands then we all died. Like someone said before, I can pick it up from the last save point and host a game with 3 other players.

BTW
Abyss is a bitch to kill. Got to use the bombs he throws and throw them back Had to try 4 times to take him out.

Yea, tried to hook up online with Musashi earlier, but the game said he had a crappy TV and I shouldn't bother playing with such a cheapskate. No joke. :lol

Barely touched it so far, but it seems identical to the first game.

Bump to say this game is awesome. I devoted most of yesterday to We Love Katamari but today is Xmen day. There are just too many characters to play and that's not a bad thing. So far my favorite team up is Magneto, Juggernaut, Nightcrawler and Jean Grey but for some reason for nostalgia sake I keep throwing Cyclops in there with Jean. I also interchange Iceman in and out too. Just from looking at abilities I can pretty much tell Wolverine is overpowered again and there is just something about the character that has always screamed overrated to me.

On my second play through I will probably have a team of Scarlet Witch, Colossus, Sunfire and
Deadpool
and interchange with Toad and Gambit. The leveling up this time seems a bit easier and their seems to be more banter that changes with group make up. So far it's a real clash of timelines. There's stuff from current, ultimate and AoA in here. I even caught a couple quips ripped right from the Xmen movies.

We need a GAF group cause playing with random idiots is becoming a pain.

I'm on right now trying to play this. Will be screwing around in campaign for right now. Doesn't seem to be many games on XBL for me oddly. XBL Gamertag is King Vitaman
add me if you want to play online.

Just rented the game and im starting single player mode now. DIdnt play the first so this is all new to me but if you guys wanna get a group together to play online lets do it

The missions are Loooooooooong. I average about 3 hours a mission, the time might go down if you are not meticulously looking for stuff I guess, but not by that much.

Anyone want to being a XBOX Live game? Gamertag is same as my GAF name, and I'm running in 480p.
i'd accept your invitation, but it won't let me because our resolutions are different

Live topic in Online Forum, lets get a group going

Is it just me or are certian characters rediculously overpowered. Juggernaut and Sunfire for instance. Me and my friend have been using the team Magneto, Cyclops, Juggernaut and Sunfire online. We tried switching it up and got destroyed quickly.

WHERE IS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:lol i didnt say lets play right now, i was watching a movie at the time. I rather organize a group than go in and just wait.

Ive watched like 8 movies waiting in and out of lobbies of random people I suspect to be rapists.

If we can get 2 more people id be up to play

No, didnt even realize Resolution and all that crap was an issue until i logged on a minute ago. Pretty damn stupid

Jesus. The very idea that anyone considers
Cable
to be "old school" makes me sad and confused.

I don't consider him old school. I'm sorry if that is unclear. I never read a X-Men comic that contained him.

no. hey, demi.

Be careful when talking to me dude. I might derail the thread.

Anyway

Is XBL XL2 co-op the *entire* game? Does it basically import my characters?

I really like co-op based games, especially when online, so my interest in this title is pretty high.

yes, you can co-op the entire game, story and story decisions, etc. and save it, play your saved games with new people, etc.

oh, if you want to talk about overpowered, then look no further than Magnus.
With Wolvie and Jean dead, Magnus took out
SUGAR MAN
with the projectile shot.

I have been absolutely loving this game till about 5 minutes ago. If any Activision people read this forum, seriously, what the hell were you people thinking??

Anyone that plays this game knows the missions are freaking long, like 3 hours long. And on top of that Xtraction points (save points) are rare and sometimes nowhere near the end of levels. Well I just spent 3 freaking hours going through the sewers on the side quest to beat
Stryfe
. I finally get there and in the middle of one Collussus's Xtreme moves the game just locks up. Now this wouldn't be a problem if save points were set through the game like they normally should be, but noooooooo. Now I have to replay the same damn level for another 3 hours tomorrow and pray it doesn't lock up on me again. This is such bullshit and my hype and excitement just seriously nosedived because of such a simple thing like a save point that should be there. .

There's an extraction point at the end of Pens 1, so you only have to go two zones to fight that boss, and one of them is pretty small. It shouldn't take 3 hours.

You realize you can use a blink portal to go back to base, save your game, and warp right back to where you were whenever you want right?

Ha. That's what I was about to say. I didn't know about the portal til I was messing with the menu. My game froze on me too right before the Act 4 boss. I was pissed cause I didn't save before the fight. :(

Yea and that's how I ended up getting around this glitch. But it's still a major fucking glitch and after playing over and over, sitting through load screen after load screen and losing quite a few rare item drops on lock ups it still pisses me off.

Yea lockups are pretty damn stupid, I went through the whole game coop with a buddy over live this weekend and we didn't encounter anything like that thankfully.

This game is awesome! I played to the end of Act 2 with my brother and a friend last night and we had a great time. I love that Magneto's forces (the brotherhood?) and Professor X's X-Men are co-operating to get to Apocolypse and therefore you play as the 'bad' characters as well, it's fun playing as Magneto. :)

I'm having so much fun with this, the game plays extremely well and the difficulty seems balanced on Normal (it was a bit boring at first but now it's proving a little more of a challenge). I can't wait to play some more today. :D

Yea, blink portal often. Buy health and energy.

And boo fuckin hoo, dont make me bring up PoP 2 and having a progression break prior to the final boss.

I tried this game recently on the pc online my word does it suck, its pretty near unplayable with 3 or more characters it lags so bad, then theres the button set up 5 on the numpad is like to trigger your special moves and 4 and 6 (also on the numpad) are to hit i got magnetos secnond special and for some reason its 0 (not on the numpad?!) maybe on consoles this game would be a lot better but i think the controls on the pc version totally suck.
