Very nice. The game has a very unique look to it. It's one I've seen before but I'm not quite sure where. I don't think I've seen it used in a game, though. I think it looks very nice, and enjoy the fact that it's a considerably different look than is typically used.

wow looking good, the reflections on the car looks hot as hell I'm still in the "wait and see" boat regarding Xbox 360 but if the system start throwing up good looking shit like this one I may jump on the ship and buy one

haha.. probably pre-rendered cut-scene movie screenshot anyway.
ummmmm....wheres the looks awesome part at? Not trolling, but it looks like CG.
Everything seems washed out and blurry, meh. The previous screenshots were a lot better.
It's supposed to be a replay screenshot where the player is boosting(got NOS?), that's why everything looks blurry.

On a side note, I was watching Top Gear yesterday and they "reviewed" that car. If the engine sounds are as accurate as in NFSU it'll sound amazing. :)

Why does EA insist on putting wet roads on all the recent NFS
Because everyone street races on wet roads... duh?

The road is dry in other pics/movies so I'm sure they have either some weather effects going on or one part of the city just happens to be wet all the time.

You've got to be kidding me.

*sigh* I'll just wait for final dev kits + a developer actually capable of demonstrating some good graphics.

Why do they need final kits to express thier artistic vision?

Every freaking time... gee, you trolls need some new material pronto!

I like that they are using more expensive sports cars for this game. The underground series was really losing it's luster, and this one seems like it's going back to the roots of the series with better cars and chases.

The only thing i don't like about this game so far is that we always get screens from the same fucking location. I guess it's hard for EA to make a NFS with different envirronnements LIKE BEFORE.

Those leaves should be objects that can fly around, that would be amazing.

Like in Rallisport Challenge 2. It was a cool effect. Reminded me of Batman (the one with Micheal Keaton).

Artistic vision? More like an artistic nightmare. Everything is nice and blurry. Low-res textures. This really doesn't match up to the screens of Unreal 2007. Yes, Unreal 2007 was on PS3, but you can bet your ass the X360 can pull of graphics like those, too. And neither does this match up to some early PGR3 screens.

I'm not downplaying the power of the Xbox 360. I'm just saying, if you are so easily impressed by these (early) screens, prepare to be blown away.

Loosing its luster? There are 2 games in the series with the second being vastly superior than the first... how the hell can it be losing its luster?

(This next part isn't to anyone specific)
If you didn't like exterior car modifications you didn't have to do it. That's why there was more than one vehicle "spot" in part 2. If you didn't like the Underground setting, you shouldn't be playing the game in the first place. You people whine too much...

Anyway, I'm not in the mood to debate so...

I'm saying, way too many elistists here
*agrees*

Actually it's 4 (you forgot the handhelds) and what I mean by losing it's luster is that the "tuner" culture is fucking played out in games already. I don't want to hear a stereotype of a Mexican calling me on my motherfucking cell phone. I don't care how many PSI's it takes to blow the engine in my 92' Civic hatch. Too many "tuner" games came out too quick. If there's an example of what's wrong with the industry, it's the way every company came out with a game like this after "Fast and the Furious" had some success.

Fine, I'll accept your point and and run with it. Did you buy/play all the versions or buy/play similar types of games? If yes, then it's your fault you went into "tuner overload" if no then so what? You aren't forced to either buy or play them.

Also, it's not like multiple game releases of a similar type has never been done before as a result of something popular emerging. And those are from far more genres than "arcade racer".

Yes I played both and I didn't say I don't like the games, just that I'm over them. Another one I bought was MC3 which was a very fun game but still follwed the formula. My original point was that I'm glad they're going back to the chases, which added a fun element to races.

Well, in the trailer and early gameplay movies during the race you hear police chatter etc but the chase begins after the police roadblock which pretty much signals the end of the race. After that point is when it transitions into the chase mode.

Granted they could alter it slightly depending on the race mode you're playing, but I doubt it.

wtf, I can't believe some people are actually saying this is "amazing". How about a -real- screen shot of the game IN play on Xbox? That'd be nice for a change.

*re-reads thread*
1- No one said it looked amazing.
2- 360 or bust!
3- Ask the same question in the Burnout or >insert non gameplay pics< thread.

i dont think there is a single (console?) developer/publisher out there that releases actual quote unquote "real" screens of their games, ie frame grabs while someone is playing complete with the hud. you'll have to wait till sites get hands on time for that kind of stuff.

for the record, i always thought this kind of pissing and moaning was dumb. games usually look much more like their pr released shots then frame buffer grabs while in motion and being played on my tv. i'm sure this up-coming generation, with better AA and higher res graphics will make them look eveen more like these kind of shots than before too
