Forza Horizon 5 Revenue exceeds GT7 F1 Need for Speed and Crew Combined

Horizon 3 was never in gamepass and still reach 10million players. And going by sells charts by EU and Americas each installment has outsold its predicessor with each new release. Also FH4 had i think 400k ultimate edition preorders while FH5 had 1.8 million before launch. And one of Playgrounds monthly streams a dev said the gap between players and paid copies is about half.

It was there. It was removed when the license expired. I remember because that's where I played it
Dormant account comes out to spread FUD, hilarious. A quick google will in fact show you that FH3 was on gamepass.

Are you a sick man :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy:

- Do you know what players mean?
- You realize many of those "players" are the same people right (from Forza 3 to Forza 5)?
- Why are you believing everyone that "played" Forza Horizon games spent money?

You realise how many 'players' are the same people from CoD last year too this year? 80-90%? What's that got to do with the figures and revenue.

I know you realise not everyone spends money but the more 'players' you have the more chance you have of that GaaS income.

Where did I ever imply every player spends? My implication is that for GaaS money you want as many players as possible so there's a higher chance of spend it's the most basic principle of the thing.

1.4m after 8 days and tracking well, with it only gaining more attention lately on YouTube and by streamers. It would be close to 2 million, a lazy $100 million in revenue from a game that didn't even cost that to produce 3 years after the fact I'm sure Microsoft is happy with that.

FH6 will day and date for the biggest racing game ever launch in history.

Forza Horizon is the greatest car racing franchise ever created. If you love cars, you'll be hooked on it. 100% automotive porn. I've been utterly hooked since 3 came out on PC. No matter what kind of 4 wheel racing you like to do, there's something for you in Horizon The cars are very distinctive from each other in their handling, and they all handle like you'd imagine. Just the right amount of simulation left in the stew for real contrast to be felt between RWD, AWD, FWD. Not to mention cars themselves. Everything has a nicely detailed interior. You can pop the hood and walk around them. Tuning and customizing is very deep and fun to share online. I boot 5 up every night before bed and just spend an hour or two tuning cars or making wraps. I just discovered a mega sleep in the Infiniti Q60 Concept. It's my favorite cruising around car this week. Not even really racing. Sometimes you just want to cruise. Threw on a wide body kit and tuned her up as much as I could without leaving A Class. Made it AWD and call it Baby Godzilla. Now I'm checking out Cargurus for cheap RWD Infiniti's!

Man Microsoft really screwed the pooch this gen on the hardware side. This franchise could have been a foundational cornerstone if they made the other moves right.

Horizon 6 will be the breakthrough title that catapults it to mainstream status. The CoD of racers. Presuming it launches on Playstation along with Xbox and PC of course. It's gonna be huge.

is this creepypasta??

It was on game pass but it launched on Sept 27 2016 the year before Game Pass launched (June 2017). So it had already sold a lot of its ltd before that. Although asking copilot they couldnt figure out when it was available on game pass, other than being delisted on the launch date 4 years later 27 Sept 2020. I cant remember if it was included frøm day 1, since I already bought it.

Sounds too good to be true but wouldn't be surprised at the same time. This is exactly the reason for the gaas chase.

I love Gran Turismo, but GT7 stinks of live service an predatory shit that nobody asked. No events like in previously, more "linear" experience ("Menus" sucks), the "Get more credits on the PS Store!" always lurking there asking you if they just balance all their pricing to get your wallet and the always online requeriment which proves that everything you do will be mostly done when they want to put the next GT (GT games are not long lived)

The formula of the game is great but it can be better (championship should have a more "race" approach imo), but it is still way better than Forza. And this comparison in particular is stupid btw, GT is a more grounded and semi-realistic game that takes itself seriopusly, Horizon is just a cheap copy of Underground. And NFS has been on decline for years.

I HOPE gt8 is back to the roots. they have been adding a lot of slow cars. could make an early game similar to old gt

Huh? What do you mean no events? There are events in every track.

What you said could be argued at launch(even though I disagree) but has LONG since been a thing of the past. The game hands out prizes and credits like crazy and to its detriment, you never feel like you're starting out because you get fast cars very early on.

I hope that thanks to Sony abandoning the GaaS model the next GT8 can become what it should always be.

The "events" are not even a shadow of how they were in previous G. The credits are better than at launch but still there, any "special" car and limited time opportunities requires huge sums of credits. And the game giving cars every menu is also not the best. GT was more of a Sand box game: Here is money for your used car, buy one and race until you get everything. Now it is so guided is boring.

Forza Horizon has been selling 10 million plus copies since the 3rd installment

That's false. And 4 & 5 came out well after MS stopped giving sales figures altogether, so how would you know this?

it is THE racing game these days it seems. so this doesn't really suprise me.

the racing game market is pretty small these days, and Forza Horizon seems to be the only series that is still popular among the mainstream console audience

Mario Kart

Gran Turismo

Are y'all even trying anymore?

According to the firm, Forza Horizon 5 has now surpassed 2.2 million sales on PlayStation, amounting to revenues that "easily exceed" $100 million for Microsoft. The Playground Games' open-world racer has only been available on the platform for just over a month.

I mean .. I'm not surprised.

Horizon 5 is crem de la crem of racing games. Of course PS5 only owners would want that too.

According to Alineaanalytics
Take with a giant pinch of salt.

Gran Turismo? How the mighty have fallen. GT is a flagship for all PlayStation consoles, but MS has no games yet is outselling Sonya's STALLWORTH.

This is precisely why fanboy console war bullshit is total ignorance. There are great games on all platforms, and the more we all have access to them the better for us consumers .

This is true. I have no shortage of games to play on my PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X. I am bathing in great new games on both platforms each month.

Say what you will about NFS and those games' shortcomings, but I personally find them more fun than Forza Horizon from an arcade standpoint. Sure, Forza has better and more realistic physics, but the actual gameplay in NFS is more enticing.

And nobody talks about the new Test Drive game. I wonder if it was that bad.

NFS and Crew revenue might just be negligible. So its really FH5 revenue vs GT7 revenue.
Its not hard to believe casual fun race game which actually happens to be 10/10 is earning more money than ultra serious racing sim not present on PC.

FH5 is such a solid game. I'm not surprised. They took what they did with FH4, fixed the mistakes (WINTER), and made a bigger, better game.

And yes it's derivative, but I think developers don't get that sometimes we just want more of the old shit they made.

But GT7 also has live service elements.......

Why? That to me says like Ubisoft is trying their hardest to make us believe that Shadows was a success. Epecially when you take into account that they've mentioned it before the game was even on PS.

?
Don't think they have even announced platforms.

Same way we know GT7 is over 10 million. Read my previous comments.

Yes because GT7 only sells in the U.S, UK, France, Spain, and Germany...

I wish Microsoft release the number I would love to know how many games do sell on Xbox and which games are best selling, though MTX does make lots of money and according to this FH5 has 56 DLC and sold some 6million on Steam: https://steamdb.info/app/1551360/charts/

Those Steam numbers are realistic, but they're also where the vast majority of the game's copies have sold, even currently (since it only came to PS5 recently). We also know a lot of the Steam copies have been sold while on sales promotions, and quite a few purchased for cheaper than Steam's MSRP on the regular through key resellers.

Things like this are why it's extremely difficult to take claims like what's in the OP, seriously.
