If they weren't ready to talk about it why were a number of executives at the event doing just that? It's utterly ridiculous to come at it from this angle. It's either backtracking and trying to get a handle on the messaging of the policies (meaning they won't change and MS just screwed up prettying it up for everyone) or the worse case of wire-crossing, and people apparently missing meetings where decisions are made, I've ever seen.
No question, they screwed up the communication. Wires were crossed and that is ultimately their fault. This stuff is worthy of debate. But not bullshit. 6 months out, insurmountable details unknown are bad enough. Articles like this are garbage hit bait, making the mess even more stupid.
