XBOne Version of NBA 2K14 Missing From Blowout Press Event, Confirmed Native 1080p/60

Okay, and Ghosts ads only show Xbox. Where's Ghosts on Xbox One? How come no one has seen it?

I'm not saying that it isn't possible that the PS4 version looks better -- all I'm saying is that people shouldn't jump to conclusions based on what console version is shown since there may be multiple reasons for it.

Their new console launches next month and no Xbone One versions of multiplats are being shown. Not even Call of fucking Duty.

it just smells like PS3/Xbox 360.....

just in reverse.

And this seemed to be Sony's plan all along. They weren't going to lose the multi-platform war this time around with the machine they built.

Developers almost always show the better version of the multiplatform game. I don't imagine Sony's paying for this. 2K in this case, and Activision for COD want to sell the most games, so they put their best foot forward.

I can't tell what that means for the XBoxone version other than it is at least slightly inferior or behind the PS4 version. I suppose, with the extra week until launch, PS4 versions could be gold while XBox versions have a day or two left. Maybe.

so how often are we going to beat a dead horse on a topic where nothing will ever change? Yes, the Xbox one is weaker than the PlayStation 4.

expect more events in the future where multi platform games for the former, are not shown.it's not a surprise now, and it shouldn't be a surprise then.

Its called raising awareness.

People who think this is beating a dead horse are wrong. There is nothing wrong about being informed about a potential $500 purchase that will be with you and you a part of it's ecosystem for the coming years.

If the issues to do with resolution/fps/graphics are true I imagine the suits looking as these scenarios like clenched ass checks holding back a metric ton of watery shit. I mean it's almost launch day and they're trying to keep us in the dark about potential development issues on launch titles.

In the couple months I've been on this forum I've gone from being relatively excited to upgrade to an XB1 to being completely deflated and uninterested in keeping either of my next gen pre-orders anymore.
Excellent work GAF, I hate video games.
Video games take away precious time that could be better spent on GAF. It's for the best.

I was a kid when the PS3 came out so I can't say with 100% certainty, but it certainly seems like the XB1 is having an even worse launch than Sony did in 2006.

I suppose time will tell though. We have a month left.

Ive been trying to remember as well, i was only 13.

Microsoft has a special deal with Activision for Call of Duty, yet next gen console CoD has yet to be shown on XBO, only PS4.

So is that trouble? Marketing deal? What?

PS4 comes out a week before. The only thing that would be worse than the XB1 version of that ugly ass game running at 720p, would be not showing the PS4 version at all when it will be available first.

Hahaha.. Was checking out this thread for the first time, and realized I was literally eating popcorn. Cousin Willie's White Cheddar.

Things like 2K14 next gen trailer saying "Actual PlayStation 4 NBA2K14 Game Footage" and not "Actual Next Gen NBA2K14 Game Footage" make me think about a deal.

or maybe they're afraid to label the PS4 footage in such a way that might convince consumers that its XB1 footage. who then buy the game and find out the game doesn't look as good as what they saw on the adverts.

that's quite plausible too.

I agree, and I was ten when the console launched.

In retrospect, PS3 wasn't terrible. Blu-Ray was able to offset the high price, only real negatives were the less-than-stellar multiplats and barebones PSN.

I think it goes beyond a marketing deal. Between the two consoles, just about every other multiplat game is being shown on PS4. Like someone else said, does Sony have the industry on lockdown with marketing deals?

informed and making assumptions are two different things.

There were a lot of assumptions made about GTA V based on the footage shown being all PS3. iirc, they ended up being quite similar.

I don't think there's anything to say until we actually do see the game(s), or a developer who can put their name on the quote says anything about it.

PSA: NBA 2K14 runs at 1080p/60fps on both PS4 and Xbox One. This is confirmed, straight from the horse's mouth.

mm sure it does ryan wink wink

I don't think that you're the only one who feels that way...

Based on the footage, they probably shouldn't have shown it at all and just said, "it's Call of Duty, buy it!"

I think the footage has turned some people off.

It's not a marketing deal with sony. None of these PS4 show/ xbox one not shown situations have been deals with sony. I'm saying this with confidence.

Even Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs? I doubt those games have exclusive content on the PS4 for free, and I would assume as part of the deal they would only be shown on Sony's platform.

Don't you guys remember the beginning of last gen when this would happen with the PS3 version. Cast your minds back to that time and remember what it meant. Same situation now.

My point stands if true then. Not smart to jump to conclusions based on what console version is being shown at an event.

After three threads of rumored multi platform games running at lower specifications I am beginning to wonder if this launch is going to approach PS3 levels of calamity for Xbox and Microsoft.

Last night and today couldn't have been good for preorders. I imagine a few have cancelled over this. You have a high profile sports game, Call of Duty, and the crown jewel Titanfall all mentioned in this mess. Can't create a more damaging group than when it comes to shaking the confidence of some consumers.
