Yeah, but you aren't being charged twice for them either. The same copy of GoW5 I bought for XbX works on PC, same for State of Decay 2 and Sea of Thieves. I haven't bought Day's Gone because I'm not gonna pay that much again for the same game I can wait for a sale.

I don't really get the point of his statement. I usually don't wade in on things like this, but it just seems like a mute statement.

The PC has always been Microsoft's domain, and for them it makes absolute sense to think about Windows along with Xbox as a complete package. But for someone like Sony, who has often opted for exotic architecture in the past, this just hasn't made sense. I can understand their strategy now, because I feel like Playstation has perhaps hit a saturation point. If you want to attract new customers, new things have to happen. Plus, the console architecture is much more 'PC-like' than generations gone by.

It's really no different to what Square Enix has been doing or Nintendo has with mobile. Final Fantasy ports and slapping an outrageous price on an already dated game?

Phil saw an opportunity to get some cheap digs in I think. Bare in mind, Sony doesn't want to cannibalise its own install base. I mean, surely it is better for them to purchasing these games through the Network rather than on someone else's store with someone else's fees? Hence, why it is obvious these games are coming much later in the cycle.

So meh really.

While Ratchet looks awesome, I'm more than happy with the experience I get with Gamepass. Been able to play tons more next gen versions of games than I would've on PS5 as a price conscious gamer
 
Stupid Sony, not only double the Xbox sales but now want to earn more money than MS on pc games reselling their IP later at full price!!!.How dare!

Let me explains this slowly.

MS.... charges.... for Steam games..... Sony.... charges..... for Steam games.

Sony doesn't have a PC storefront.... so.... refer back to the first sentence you quoted.

The only reason they can do so is because they own the OS and have a store that is consistent across Xbox and Windows.

Since he's running his mouth so much why can't I play the Microsoft games I own via the Windows store on Steam?

Or is that not a valid step since it would no longer benefit them?

You guys fall for this mans crap every single time. Imagine valuing him talking shit and "pressuring" other companies more than you do him delivering a consistent stream of high quality games for you to play.

This would require an integration between platforms to work well, which is rumored to be coming as an option to Steam for other platforms (for a while now).. whether that will actually come out, or MS would use it, is another question.

Why would you buy a game twice anyway? If you buy it on PS, why would you buy it on PC and vice versa?

Phil's statements are completely disingenuous.

They need to start releasing games instead of talking constant garbage.
 
So how come I didn't get get a free copy of MCC on PC since I bought it on Xbox? Weird take. His good guy mask fell off.

But he's right of course. I've definitely double dipped.
MS needs to sync up Windows store and Steam licenses though. There is double dipping on the same platform right now.

I log into EGS w/ my PSN Id. Sony now owns part of EGS, could likely work out the idea of unlocking games via PSN Id integration.

Beyond that, Sony could create their own store/launcher.. which they might do some day. (although I suspect continuing to support Epic is more their future plans)

Whether Sony would actually do that is another question.

steam=/=their store. plus their game is on steam.
 
Hard to take criticism from last place, plus coming from a guy that launched a new system with 0 games, and had to buy fucking Bethesda to get people excited about Xbox. Imagine Sony releasing 0 exclusives and then buying rockstar to slap ps5 exclusive on their games.

maybe sony should release gamepass. Xbox people are feasting with gamepass. This year, they got mlb and outriders for free. What did sony did for their users, charge them 70$.

Incidentally, I know this is a concept that's difficult to understand for sensational websites that live off controversy and cherry-picking small quotes that may trigger the console warriors but...

There's a rather big difference between "criticizing PlayStation" and saying something that your platform has going for it, which people may like, and that other platforms don't have, which is what Spencer is actually doing. 🤔

He must be mad people are still willing to pay full price for PlayStation ports on PC so maybe Sony is making tons of money while maintaining that PS exclusive demand.
 
Man you guys never cease to amaze me with how in your feelings you get when MS speaks.

He literally is just saying their offering has an advantage over Sony, without mentioning their name.

That's it.. it's a common way to market your advantages over a competitor.. there is no "criticism" of Sony.
