I think one of the biggest hurdles Sony and Nintendo will have to clear with respect to this Xbox 360 launch is convincing consumers that, even though the Xbox 360 is launching with good 3rd party support, they shouldnt identify these titles exclusively with Xbox. For example, in this generation, the first console that will probably come to mind when thinking about Madden football isnt Nintendo Game cube but Playstation 2. Customers typically associate certain games, even third-party titles, with specific consoles, at the expense of the competing brands who present these games equally as sound in terms of visuals and gameplay.
If Xbox 360 succeeds in doing this, it will be up to Sony and Nintendo marketing and PR to convince gamers otherwise.
