You took some of the words out of my mouth, DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL
Fillrate on X360 is 4GP/sec but that is with FREE ANTI-ALIASING and on most of your TVs (480i) the resize filter will probably give you some free SuperSampling on top of that!!!
Can you say

Yeah....I thought you could
IMO, I would think that if you could somehow turn off AA in X360 games, you would probably get closer in reality to that 16Gigapixel
Xenon figure :lol .....again, how foolish would microsoft look if X360 performance was slightly above the 300 million (micro) polygons per second/
140 or 120Gigaflop numbers they gave for the Xbox back in
2000
All this is likely true, BUT (big but) one big downside would be the memory bandwidth required in that process of sending verex data from CELL to GPU......we know Rambus FlexI/O has plenty of memory bandwidth (45GB/sec outbound from CELL to the GPU, 32GB/sec inbound from the GPU to CELL and 77GB/sec aggrigrate bandwidth for reads and writes) but how big a chunk of that 45GB/sec Cell=>GPU will be SOLELY vertex stuff.....possibly a whole lot...
As was expected, R500 is pretty baddass, with ~32MB/sec memory bandwidth that although will also have to be shared with XeCPU, won't have to share vertex data with it either....which it may in the PS3.....we will just have to wait and see on that one :/
All in all, I am getting strong GameCube vibes (nimble, efficient hardware) from X360, which is a good thing
