Developer and publisher that actually made the game and can see sales, subscriptions, and engagement data: "We're very happy!"

Sure, in the sense that people enjoying a game doesn't prevent it from failing or a studio getting closed. You're the one who started comparing to Concord. Of course it's still a waste of time and money, especially if you bought physical.
Microsoft has lied about this before. The biggest example is in this thread.Developer and publisher that actually made the game and can see sales, subscriptions, and engagement data: "We're very happy!"

Please, pay attention.
right, companies often shut down developers when they deliver successful, profitable, and high quality games. Especially publishers who badly need a content pipeline to feed their subscription service.Hi-Fi Rush? Just because Microsoft shut Tango down doesn't mean Hi-Fi Rush didn't do well. There's infinitely more variables than that.
There's a reason Tango was acquired and a Hi-Fi Rush sequel is in development.
If you're saying they tried to shut down something that had success then no one should give a shit about what's considered a success according to them.Hi-Fi Rush? Just because Microsoft shut Tango down doesn't mean Hi-Fi Rush didn't do well. There's infinitely more variables than that.

I dont recall the Professor ever giving a statement that she was happy with the reception. Which is what this is about.Sure, in the sense that people enjoying a game doesn't prevent it from failing or a studio getting closed.
Which was what it was about.

Come on man. Nobody knows if Avowed is actually a success but this is obvious BS, especially because she says there are no metrics.
If you're saying they tried to shut down something that had success then no one should give a shit about what's considered a success according to them.
when they don’t provide numbers sureYes, so clearly the rational reaction is to just assume that every game Microsoft claims is successful from here on out is actually a super secret failure /s
The rational reaction is to treat any MS proclamation of success or "happiness" with skepticism.Yes, so clearly the rational reaction is to just assume that every game Microsoft claims is successful from here on out is actually a super secret failure /s
They did provide numbers for Hi-Fi Rush though.when they don’t provide numbers sure
because we have evidence of exactly that problem
My reaction was to someone implying Avowed can't be a failure because people are enjoying it.I dont recall the Professor ever giving a statement that she was happy with the reception. Which is what this is about.

How sad.Yeah... Ok *rollseyes*
What do you mean by this?
It really is a good game, still going through it now and am really engrossed, which these days is rare for me.![]()
GG. Really enjoyed my first run through the game.
Will do more renegade themed runs after playing some upcoming games like Shadows etc.
Exactly a studio closing doesn’t mean anything. Studios close all the time for no reason at all.No we don't. Again, a studio being closed isn't "evidence" of anything other than that the studio was closed.
And we have plenty of "evidence" of successful games being released by Xbox Games Studios as well.
